All TVs should be SmartTVs with at least wifi and Netflix and such built in these days.

Why is that? I don't need all the smart apps on all of my tv's. I am happy the 60" LG plasma I got last month for $789 didn't have those features as it would have cost a lot more if it did. If one wants to add functionality later, just buy a wifi BluRay player such as the Panasonic in the FP deal....

I bought my SmartTVs over a year ago with those features and they were all reasonably priced. I'm just saying that by now it should be cheap enough to add those features without significantly raising the cost of production. I personally hate having DVD players for extra features. If a DVD player with netflix and wifi can be sold for $30, a TV with those features shouldn't cost much more.

Its worth $799 and it should be widely available

if you are one of the lucky ones that can get the 60" Sony EX723 model for $799...that would be a no brainer choice over the LG....even if the Sony was a 55"

However you plasma has better picture quality....color accuracy, black level, and off an viewing than this TV

If I were going to buy an LG...it would likely be a plasma
Unless the full array 9600 series were being considered

Smart functionality and 3D..IMO..is not nearly as important as good 2D picture quality

which I would be watching 95% of the time anyway

why oh why is frys so racists to people who don't live close to their glorious stores and can pick this up (or, indeed, have a cars large enough to do so even if they did). boohhh on Frys!! you only care about people with big honking SUV's that live close to your stores.....

I tried to get BB to price match Frys on two occasions...like 8-12 months ago

One situation was a Samsung 46D7000 LED for $1099 including a blue ray player and two pairs of glasses/qwerty remote
This was $600 less than BB's price

Unfortunately Frys ran out of stock. BB would not match even though I had a rain check in hand from Frys

The other time was a samsung 64D8000 plasma for $1299
This time BB was out of stock...but even still they questioned Fry's price
In both instances I had walked in Frys taken a picture of the price and showed it to BB

I ended up buying the plasma TV at Frys

In both instances BB told me .." if the Frys prices were true"...they would be losing $400-600 per TV sold

who knows

anyway....I find if there is a significant difference as there can be on these TV's..be prepared to cover 100% of the burden of proof of the deal to BB

There are always two options
1. Take the TV out of the box to make it easier to carry
2. rent a truck for $20.00( for 45 mins) at Lowes/Home Depot

Dude - doesn't anyone understand humor? I'm in NY and have no Fry's close to me...so this joke was the closest I'd come.

Can someone tell me if the HDMI port is on the side or on the back? I want to mount with a flush wall mount, need to confirm. Also can the soundbar be hooked up to a AVR and used as a center channel ? I already have an Pioneer 1122k that I am using. Thanks!

EDIT: Got BB to PM to Walmart, I have $200 in reward zone credit that expires in a couple of weeks, making this set $600. I think this is a pretty good deal despite some of the complaints people have been posting in the other thread. Anyone care to comment?
