It would be nice if these were available on the Play store. The problem with the Amazon store is the apps don't get updated as often. ie. Weatherbug Elite is still an old version on Amazon.

Amazon wants your business from Google. Unfortunately they have a rather lengthy development life cycle from the developer to the end user. Some Developers choose not to have their app available to Amazon, some are delayed because they have to jump through additional red tape to be on Amazon, and some follow the Amazon SDLC and are delayed because of Amazon.

All in all Amazon is offering them free, they will probably be updated to the same version on Google Play but it isn't promised and it may take longer if a developer is willing to jump through the red tape.

Complain to Amazon if you are upset about the delay. Amazon may do nothing but in most cases it isn't the developers faults like most of the disgrundled amazon customers believe on the app reviews
