what are these used for btw? and where do i put them
These are for folks who live in places such as Arizona, the Midwest, etc that have hard water that won't let you lather up shampoo, ruins your car when you wash with it, etc.

You put them in a system like this:

how do I know if I have hard water?

sorry. I just never heard of these before.
Wash your car, don't dry it and see white spots. That is one way. Check out this map:

You use them with Water Softeners. Water Softeners reduce the hardness of your water from deposits like calcium. They're more common in certain parts of the country.
Awesome thanks

just wanted to share a recent experience with Sears pickup.

I ordered these back in Nov and got a call from them saying they were out of stock and that the order will be cancelled. Today after ordering again for pickup at another location, I noticed that my CC was charged for the one back in Nov. I looked at my order history and it said that the Nov order was "Picked Up on Dec 17!"
I was never near the store on that day, so I'm thinking one of the employees marked it as picked up and took it home for themselves. I did an online chat and they said the items were missing and they'd get back to me in 8 days. Hoping what I'm suspecting is not true and that the items really did just "go missing" somehow.

If you guys order and get a call saying they're OOS, make sure you go online to cancel or go try and pick up anyway.

I bought 14 bags and I cannot figure out their math. 14 * 3.79 = $53.06 - $5 = $48.06 with 0.07125 sales tax. Total should have been $ 51.48

But they got my total as $52.78 which is $1.30 higher than what I can figure out.

Wonder if they would mind if I don't pick up these until next Tuesday?

Adding to your comment here, but in NORCAL you do not need this, however if you have an RV or an underground septic tank, this is good for the tank since it keeps the crap loose from sticking to walls when you have to drain it.Big Grin
