no rust prevent no care
Iagree

Dunno if it's a Florida thing or not but no rust care in your salt is a piss poor idea. You get zero longevity without it and the quality before it drops dead of rust is sketchy at best.

You use them with Water Softeners. Water Softeners reduce the hardness of your water from deposits like calcium. They're more common in certain parts of the country.
Thanks for that. Water Softeners are not used around here. Curious why any one would need 40lbs of salt.

Yes but it's certainly not the most effective way to do it. I have been told the size of the pellet is the issue.

I'm no salt expert but dumping regular table salt on snow will melt it. I'm sure this stuff would work.

ok, I found answer to my own question:
http://www.digtriad.com/news/stor...yid=136819

use this for snow only if you have no access to rock salt or stores run out of rock salts.

In for 2 bags. I would not recommend for drive ways or sidewalks. The pellets are too big.

Wait, they load them up for you? Do they bring them out on a cart to your vehicle?
The local Sears pickup parking area has signs that tell you to stay in your car, call a certain phone number and they will bring your order to your car.

Split into two orders and get each over $50 and use the 5 off 50 twice. Big Grin

Just in time, was about to head to walmart to pick up 5 bags. Thanks!

And it looks like Shop Discover has 10% cash back at Sears. Nice.

Also useful to make your pool a salt water pool either with or without a salt water chlorine generator. Granted, in most of the country that's a moot point now, but useful for me in South Florida.

Calcium chloride type deicing materials are safer, faster, less damaging to concrete and melt up to eight times as much ice.
