If you want/need to shoot action and don't want to spend 3k, then the 7D isn't a bad choice. Many people were hoping (myself included) that the 7D's advanced AF system would appear on the 6D, but ultimately Canon cheaped out and gave us 11 point AF making it only marginally better than the 5D2 (with crappier build quality).

5diii is far from a failure. This thing has the third best AF system in the canon lineup even though its 2+ years old next to the 1DX (9 months old) and the 5dmkiii (5 months old) . At 1k its a steal, but its due for an update. I have the T2i which has a "similar" sensor (see same). I don't like shooting over iso 800 due to noise. I'm tempted to jump on this for the AF but the bottom line will be the same annoyances at low light/high iso. For me its full frame or bust... wish the 6D had a better AF system because with the Wifi feature on that camera it pretty much does everything I'd ask for in a camera at a pricepoint that in the near future should be attainable.

Been using my 7D for about a year now. Great camera! If you're upgrading from the baseline bodies, the XTi, T1i, T2i, etc, this body is a huge upgrade, but is also quite a bit bigger and heavier. Very solid feel to it and it produces great images, provided you supply appropriate glass to shoot through. This is a great price!

I'm well aware that any current full-frame DSLR is about $2k or more. Do you know what a NEX-7 is? While there are some advantages afforded by the 7D, it's not enough for me to consider it as an ADDITION to my collection....not for this price. I always thought Canon ?D cameras were full-frame, but obviously not. I did ask by stating I don't know much about Canons. I've had Oly, Panny, and several SONY bodies, but Canon never appealed to me. I'll take ANY full-frame for cheap though despite the brand

I have read and watched lot of reviews about this camera which is pretty much a REBEL T2i... Does not impress me much. Just ordered the Canon 5D Mark iii which has great deal at Amazon. http://slickdeals.net/f/5746930-B...ON-PRIME-B
