Just saw this Groupon and tried it out to see if it worked on renewals, and it does. The Groupon is just a redemption code that can be applied to ANY account. It is in-store credit so I am pretty sure it can be applied to anything. Online Deal []

Choose Between Two Options
  • $10 for $30 worth of website-building products
  • $25 for $70 worth of website-building products

Redeem at (copy/paste after logging into Godaddy):

It CAN be used on renewals. AND the credit is applied to your account and CAN be used over many transactions.

STACK with 29% off coupon: gdx1236g

Or 44% off domain renewal codes:

Expires Feb 27, 2013

Limit 1 per person. Limit 1 per visit. Valid only for option purchased. Valid online only. Online registration required. Must be 18 or older. Gift cards, Paypal, Alipay and CCavenue may not be used to redeem offer. Goods sold by Paid value will be applied to first purchase. Must be an existing customer or create a new customer account to redeem.

GoDaddy supported SOPA and for that I've been moving away from GoDaddy ever since. Just 4 days ago, I signed up with ixwebhosting for $4 bucks a month hosting plan pre-paid for 2 years, and it includes a free web domain registration. This is still Cheaper than GoDaddy even with this groupon deal.

Screw godaddy.

Take a look at namecheap.

Tried using same CC from another email, Groupon showed me purchased page, but don't see it in 'My Groupons' nor does CC have second charge on it.

Great deal!! I was paying $8 monthly on hosting, with 30% coupon, came to $68 for 2 year hosting! I will renew my domain for 5 years with another groupon code.

Yeah that's what I thought. Groupon promo code will expire, but if you redeem it before Feb, credit will apply and stay in Go Daddy account, that won't expire.
Yea that's correct, per the groupon fine print it says that the paid value would be used first. So although the paid value never expires let's say you buy the $10 for $30 groupon and spend $15, $10 of that is counted as the paid value and $5 is the promo value leaving you with $15 in promo bucks that have to be used by feb. 27 2013.

I ended up buying the 10 for 30 groupon and used the 44% off code to get 3 years renewal. Weird thing is my domain was set to expire in 2014 and when I paid for the 3 years it now shows my domain name as set to expire in 2018.. this happen to anyone else? did i get a free year? I still have $5 left in promo value so I think I'm going to buy one more year.

fyi namecheap comes with free whois protection for 1 year on all new domains (only a few bucks to renew the whois protection too). that and the fact that the interface is lightyears better than Godaddy made me switch over.

Thanks for this list ... you can buy 1 $70 groupon for each city and apply all of them to your GoDaddy account and keep the in-store credit around until you need them for renewals.

Thanks, first time seeing such a deal for GoDaddy.
Just renewed 2 domains for 8 years each for $50 total. (2 groupon accounts & 2 CCs)

Their unpopular SOPA stance may have cost them many customers, but it's not enough to stop me from continuing my relationship as a customer with them. I've been with GoDaddy for over 10 years now.

This is truly a great deal. Here is a chance for people to stick it to both groupon and gdaddy. Groupon is run by a group of pyramid scammers (look it up), and gdaddy is enough said. If you and your friends are sharing the same computer, just use private incognito mode and use different browsers.

Superb deal. Purchased two Groupons and renewed a couple of domains for many years. Plus used the 40% off. Ended up being a 75% discount.

Thanks OP.

It looks like when I bought a second one groupon must have left a cookie in my browser and it ordered from the same city as the first one even though I used different links.

Should I cancel the second order because two redemption codes bought from the same city wont work on the same GD account, isn't that correct?

Edit: they are both showing from Cedar Rapids

VPS with cPanel and SSL: $39.98/mo x 6 = $239.88

LKSRTLMENT for 50% off = $119.94

-$70 Groupon = $49.94

So paid just $74.94 for 6 months of VPS ($12.49/mo)

Didn't go the multiple Groupon route, it would've been even better!
