There is a great deal on the LightShow LED Starter Kits.

In November I bought 6 sets with the Home Depot 50% off coupon and I think that they were around $30 for a strand of LightShow 12-count Icicle Multi-Color LED lights. I have 6 strands connected and have had not synchronization problems. They really are very impressive and I have gotten a number of compliments on them. At less than $13 a strand, with some added lights and clips, these are a fantastic deal. Of the two sets, I think that the multi-color is the better deal.

They are offering two different sets:
LightShow Multi-color LED Starter Kit - color changing icicles, flickering string lights, and gutter clips - $119 VALUE! (with excellent reviews)
Kit includes: 3 light strings of Color Changing Light Show String-S/12-Icicle, 2 strings of Starry Night Light String-50 ct. (Multi-color) and 36 ct. Universal Shingle/Gutter Clips.

How long does HD hold store pickup items before they cancel the sale? I couldn't find a "must pickup by" date anywhere in any of the emails they sent me. I'd rather not drive clear across town if I don't have to.
They generally hold for 4 days. You might be able to have them hold for longer.

There are quite a few of these around my area.
you're lucky. i placed four orders, after my initial one was cancelled for no inventory, and 2/5 got fulfilled. the stores that did have them did have quite a few sets.

Picked one of these up last night after work (Rochester, MN had a bunch of both left). They were actually $60 normally, not the $120 that the product page claims, but half off is still slick.

I plugged them in to test them and they're pretty cool. Can't wait to put them up next year.

Maybe this video?

This is the video that really impressed me. If you watch closely this homeowner has both the falling star and multi-colored hung together. (so much for 1/2 priceBig Grin)

I bought both white (falling star) and multi-colored planning to return one or the other and still can't decide - they are both unique.

Combo of the color changing and shooting stars part 2:

I cancelled my colored ones and got 6 boxes of white. I might have to order more of the colors now. This is pretty neat

Picked up two sets of the white. Even though the white has less light coverage i thought the dripping effect looked cool.

i'm not sure if their online system is flashbased. does this link for anyone?

it should show all the remaining lightshow lights on clearance at the local store level.

^This. Anyone?
It should be easy enough for them to call Home Depot
and simply ask how long they hold them for.

Man these need to drop in price another 10 bucks and then they would be a screaming deal.

I originally bought just 4 of the multi-colors but after watching that video I also picked up 6 of the white shooting stars and will hang both together. I wonder what lights he used in his tree? They change colors in sync with the others. They're definitely not the 'flickering' 50 light sets included in our kit (the flickering ones don't sync with the others), and I can't see someone putting lights with white wires in a green tree. I'm thinking they have changed the makeup of this kit and originally included other lights instead of the flickering ones.

Notice in this video the lights going around his garage door. They're like a chase light and not the 'flickering' ones. In his description he mentions they were from the 'kit' though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KYx6WPa4DQ

I'm thinking they just got these 'new' kits with the flickering lights in stock. I don't recall seeing them earlier before Christmas. The flickering ones seem to be a cheap filler as they don't really go with the other lights.

Still a GREAT deal even with the flickering lights, just saying....

They won't go down in price until after the New Year ~ after the zombie coupons expire. Wink
