Ya the fan quality is sad for a high end card. If you going are going to mod it at all just get the artic cooling. My artic twin turbo pny gtx 670 makes virtually no sound and keeps my card at 55 degrees at max load voltage unlocked and overclocked. I upped the voltage of my card to 1.215 to make it even faster. At 1280 MHz boost clock now! RAWR.

It does look and feel cheap. That's what is so disappointing.
Oh well it's not my problem anymore. I just ordered the Gigabyte Windforce.
The way I saw it was $320 for the PNY and an Arctic cooler, with likely voided warranty and no VRAM cooling @ stock clocks in a 3-slot wonky setup. For $380, I get arguably best in class dual slot 670 (allows SLI) with full warranty.

There is a saying that goes something like this:
"The bitterness of inferior quality lasts long after the sweetness of a good price fades away".
I can't think of a more appropriate adage.

Ah I see what it does. Instead of pushing air perpendicular to the blades, this fan basically takes air and throws it in the direction it's spinning... in this case into the card, through the heatsink and out the back. I didn't have success replacing the fan with the 260 fan cause the 260 design has the fan behind the heatsink so haven't taken that off yet.

For me, the PNY card is about 220-230 dollars. Getting a cooler is 20-40 more so still a good price. But I'd rather have it for 220 xD

atm newegg has a clearance and I found some interesting stuff like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6835186072 that I can mount onto pny's heatsink. Might work but not in a rush
