The key for some games is whether the 7850 you purchased has 2GB of RAM or just one. Skyrim, in particular, is far more playable on cards with 2GB of RAM because of the high-resolution textures.

For most games, though, a 7850 should be enough to play at 1920x1080 without having to turn much of anything down in the way of graphical settings and still get good framerates.

I asked myself the same question that you asked at the end there and ultimately decided that I could probably sell the games and sell my current cards (2x 6850) and get the gtx 670 mostly paid for. I figured in doing so, I would futureproof myself just slightly more. Hopefully the 670 lets me continue gaming at 1080p for another few years at high settings. I wasn't sure the same could be said for the 7850. It is on the border of falling below 60fps in modern games at 1080p.

Yeah I did get the 2gb version of the 7850 with OC possibilities. I'm not a huge gamer but I don't want to be limited to low frame rates when I do play occassionally. Thanks for the info.

too bad this thread is not for a 680. check the link in my original post. at $260 the 670 has a better ratio than the 660 ti. i wasn't comparing the 680 to 670 so yes i would agree with the 670 being a better deal than the 680. your post sounded like you were saying all of the top cards have a bad price performance ratio. and yes i do understand what a ratio is
