IB CPUs also have a higher Tmax, at 105C. People need to realize, 70C isn't "too hot", nor is 80C. Not as cool as SB but it isn't supposed to be, either.

If you have a decent motherboard, you may be able to adjust the fan speed profile in the BIOS. Have it set to low/medium up to say 60C, and perhaps have it at high closer to Tmax. Same can be done with a number of software-based programs within Windows. But sadly, you simply did a sidegrade, as IB is only ~7% faster per clock, so you have an ~2% performance gain, congrats.

Awesome price.. been running my 2500k for a year or so at 4.3ghz pretty stable, under 1.3v and never gets above 62 degrees.. can't see a reason to push it any further to be honest, though many achieve 4.5ghz or higher really easily. Super easy to overclock and incredible performance for the price.

Wish I had an excuse to buy another!

I have been waiting for a deal on an i5 3570k. I do not have a MC or fry's nearby. I currently have a rig with an AMD Phenom X3 740BE.

1. Should I just get this 2500k instead? For me it comes to $145. No tax for MC in my state
2. Or should I wait for a 3570k deal? Does MC ever have motherboard bundle deals available for shipping?
