My December rebate was also denied, without notification to me.
Chat fixed it, but what a PITA. My screwdrivers are also trash... almost dangerous to use and are delegated to the paint mixer tool catagory! |

have you used it before? would it magnetize screwdrivers? i am just having a hard time to believe in such a pitch - Magnetizer, Magnet, and Demagnetizer. could somebody please confirm? |

Nope- never again. Life is too short to waste time trying to collect on rebates. Ace denied mine once, they were perfect- fool me once, shame on you....well, you get the idea.
Skip Ace. Twain must have had SD in mind when he penned this:
"To do something, say something, see something, before anybody else - these are things that confer a pleasure compared with which other pleasures are tame and commonplace, other cheap and trivial |

I don't recall if the $5 coupon has the same fine print, but the $5 off $15 can only be used at the Ace location printed on the coupon and is for regular price merchandise only. |

Don't expect to get your rebates unless you buy in store. CS told me this was In Store Only....you are taking a chance on not getting rebate if you do online and ship to store...not to mention the chances are about 90% they will screw up your shipment anyway. Ace sucks A$$.
On the bright side though, everything except the screwdrivers are well worth 2$ |

Skip the tape measure. It's annoying as hell when you pull out X length of tape, set it down on your material, and have the weight of the body depress the "release button" on the bottom causing the tape to wind up again. This happened to me constantly.

Have a lot of Stanley US-made hand tools from years ago I still use and will never give up, but can't deny the quality is not there anymore. Like so many other bedrock American companies, off shored due to over-regulation and the pipe dream of global "free trade".

ok. seems like there is a rebate issue if buying these items from online store.
anyone have experience on this? I just placed my order online a minute ago for store pickup. I also have $5 in-store coupon that I plan to use later when I pickup the item. I figure the store might be able to cancel the purchase and re-purchase back using my coupon. I did this one time when I purchased item from different store but forgotten to apply the coupon. I went to my nearest ace hardware location and they simply do cash return and repurchase the item for me with coupon. YMMV. the good thing about this, if you use online cash back link, the purchase still be valid and you will eventually receive the cash back for the purchase. Not sure if the store can do this for online purchases. |
