think that's possible? i'm showing $400-450 for the lens by itself. i definitely haven't seen any t4i bodies for $400...

Doubtful. The current instant rebates end Jan 5th, but Canon is always doing new ones. The camel shows that usually by Feb. prices start to rise back up. Each year they fall for the holiday season.

Possible? Yes. Likely? Maybe not. This is a great deal, don't get me wrong. If this had happened in November, I probably would've bought it and told my wife she was getting it for me for Christmas. As it stands, though... I already did that with tools, so I am stuck with my T1i for the time being.

Yep... I don't really see the point of getting the T4i without STM, honestly. Continuous autofocus for video is pretty great. On my T1i I try to do it manually, but it is hard to keep up with a running toddler.

i'm on a fence here. we have vacation plans next july for hawaii. i picked up a gopro during those ridiculous BF sales because i know they don't really mess with MSRP on them. $320 is reasonable.

i have passed on all these t3i/t4i deals so far (kit lenses mind you) because i have this gut feeling it might be cheaper closer to july next year, but it seems these entry dlsr's hold their retail value for a while and only get discounted certain times of the year.

then again i need time to play with it and get used to all of the features. ahhh.. decisions!

but live-view AF sucks

everytime I see this Camera greater than $656(what i've bought it + goodies for) , It's a SD' ish feeling . Nice camera though... Loved its video and AF capabilities so far....
