Can't imagine why you'd buy this from Amazon unless you live in NJ (Adorama charges you tax), have Prime and must have it in two days, or have Amazon credits you need to burn. Heck, I have Amazon credits to burn and still won't overpay for this lens, I'l save them for a real Amazon deal.
The Adorama deal explicitly says it is non-grey market with US warranty. Plus you can get 3% CB which knocks nearly three bucks off the price and that ultimately makes it a much better deal.
I have both this 50mm 1.8 and the 40mm STM. IMO, both lenses are great and good for particular needs. I use the 40mm for video and when I want a bit of a wider framing, but I must say that I LOVE the 50mm 1.8. It's a wonderful focal length (80mm crop), it's fast and sharp, and the way it causes the subject to pop and the background to fade and blur is just wonderful. I've kept the 50mm on my T4i for all my Christmas pics so far. After reviewing some of my shots, I turned to my wife and said "I love this lens!"
Sometimes it's important to understand exactly how much you don't know.
Don't use SnapSort, don't cite SnapSort. (WikiPedia, on the other hand, is actually pretty good. Don't dis WikiPedia).
Deal price is at FINAL checkout, people.
