Love war movies but I always thought this and Bridge Too Far were two of the most overrated ever. Good price though.
There's being frugal, and there's being obnoxiously cheap, please learn the difference. Also if you find yourself getting into heated arguments online about things like lossless audio, re-assess your life.

I am in on this. Our house was robbed on Saturday and the thief took all my blu rays. band of brothers, the pacific...ugh all my war movies. Need to start rebuilding my collection. Thanks OP.

Agree with the OP's copied review. This was great rah-rah stuff when I was a teen but there's just too much Hollywood hero BS to these old movies. BoB or SPR or Ken Burns' The War make these movies and the mindset of their time obsolete.

I love war movies, but is there really a point in putting these oldies on Blu-ray? You can't really take crap-def and make it any better with Blu-ray, can you? Isn't DVD good enough? I just don't get it.

The source data, original film reels, is higher quality than vhs/dvd etc, the data gets scrunched when converting to vhs size, etc. Blu-ray allows them to fit more data onto the disc, but they have to go back to the original film and remaster it to make it work on blu-ray. |

Great price but mediocre movie. Robert Shaw plays a good evil German, though. The parts with Fonda flying around in the plane... sheesh. I love WWII movies but just could not bring myself to buy it tonight, even with free Prime (yay Kindle!)
