In for one, and repped.. was looking for a good monitor and had basically resigned myself to buying TN panel, but if I can get IPS for the same price and bigger... I'm all for it. I don't know if it will fit on my VESA mount but at this price, I honestly don't care either
Didn't realize dell was making "entry level" ips screens, unfortunately this is basically a 27" TV with computer connections. I was hoping for the deal of a lifetime when I saw 27" ips but this isn't at all a photo editing monitor.
Got so excited with a 27" IPS from a brand name... and then 1920 x 1080. Still a good price - and repped!- but I'd like some 2560 goodness.
Unfortunately that is going to cost $600 more.

Ya the resolution on this model kills it for me although it's a very nice price. I have the Auria from MicroCenter currently and can't say anything bad about it. Highly recommend it. I used to have the Catleap but the limited compatibility with GPU's and the lack of compatibility with laptops etc. forced me to get rid of it. Good for the price if you it satisfies your needs, but it did not satisfy mine at all.
Saw one of these in person. It's super glossy. I would rather find a u2412m for about the same price. I know it's smaller at 24", but it's 16:10, 1920x1200, better stand that lifts and lowers, and it's not glossy. I think the best I can find it today is about $290, but I've bought them as low as $260 in the last few months.
I think the spec is wrong, I doubt it's IPS panel. Only Uxxxx is IPS panel.
Got a U2711 for around $430ish from Dell. Now that's a IPS panel and wide color gamut.
Well, the review that was posted earlier: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/revie...s2740l.htm
mentions " This model features a 1920 x 1080 resolution AH-IPS panel and while it offers a very similar design to the S2440L, it does offer a few extra nice features which we will discuss throughout the course of the review." so that seems like a solid confirmation of the IPS panel, no?
