YMMV - SYWR members get free points for Sears tools - YMMV
Update: EXPIRED
YMMV (Your mileage may vary) In other words, if you didn't receive an email similar to the one below, then this deal won't work for you.
Got an email from Shop Your Way Rewards [shopyourway.com] that states:
"GET $5 IN POINTS (5,000 POINTS) to use on a Mechanic's Tool Set purchase when you redeem your Points. Hurry! These Points expire on 12/31/12. Points will be applied automatically toward your redemption on a Mechanic's Tool Set, in store or online at Sears [Sears.com]."
Apparently, these points are invisible to me. That is, until I went to checkout with a Mechanic's tool set in my cart at Sears.com. I chose to redeem my existing points, and an extra $5 in points were added to the redemption amount.
I emptied my cart and tried again with:
- Single tool - SUCCESS
- Tool box - SUCCESS
- Garden hose - FAILED
- TV - FAILED
- A tool at Kmart.com - FAILED
Conclusion: The invisible points work only on the Tools category at Sears, and you must redeem your existing points (at least 1 cent) to make the free points appear. Again: YMMV.
