Not to be a killjoy. As some one that buys wired xbox remotes exclusively for the past 5 years, this isnt a deal. This is the same price this controller has been for the past 4 year (roughly). If any one did the research they would of realized that a wired xbox controller could be used on a windows 7+ computer with out drivers for a long while.

Why would I buy a wired one when I got the Wireless with the PC dongle to use it on my machine for $40 from Amazon. If you wait you can buy this for $25 anything more for the wired controller in my opinion is too much.

Well, you are a killjoy. Find the same controller from a reputable merchant for the same price, and post it here. Also, its not a bad idea to install the latest stable drivers for a device, especially since the software adds functionality like: accessory status indicator

I actually hate wireless for anything that can come wired. I don't wanna have to worry about batteries, chargers, signal issues, interference, or the added weight of a battery pack. Yes I realize most of those are negligible, but they still happen under certain circumstances.

Why? Because I sit 4 feet from my pc. Because I don't have to worry about batteries. And, because I don't have to worry about increased wireless lag, and/or interference from other 2.4GHz devices such as my router or cordless phone.

Its not the fact that it can be found else where, its the fact that this is about the price its been for the past few years, so calling it a deal is again, negligible (starting to like this word). Seeing as I just bought one of these recently for this price a month ago from newegg. Now if it was combined with the 20% xbox accessories that newegg sends out so very often, I could see this being a deal, albeit a very small one.

*edit* Also I said nothing about the drivers other than it would work with out them. Also those drivers for the most part really don't do much (less annoying task bar pop ups the better), and I prefer the least amount of stuff on a computer that I don't need as much as possible. This include drivers, because I know it just adds clutter I need to clean out later. But this is personal preference and if you are having issues with the pre-installed drives, there is that link for the help.

Haven't used a wired controller in years and at $31 I think I would rather pay the extra $6 and get a wireless one.

So "it's the best price right now" makes it a deal? I got mine for 12 dollars cheaper

Well, then I apologize to you and everyone else who has seen and/or rated this thread down. I looked at Amazon, ebay, and other usual online merchants that I shop with, and this was the cheapest I could find. It is discounted $8.00 on Newegg, and has free shipping. I thought it was a decent price, so I decided to share; but, I don't usually shop for 360 controllers, so I didn't know that this was the "going" price for the past couple years... Oh well, looks like I wasted my time as well as yours.

Again, I don't mean to thread crap cause I hate when people do that to others. I'm usually a recluse that lurks in the shadows on these forums for good deals or pointing things out that I do have a good knowledge on, as you can tell from my post count, I usually stay out of peoples posts as much as possible to avoid drama. I personally think its a good deal for standard pricing, I just don't believe it is a, as other forum users love to put it "slick" deal.
