Anyone mind explaining how square trade warranty works? If I buy something from Costco and they sell Square trade warranty on top of their warranty, but I decide not to get it....Can I just come home and get it through squaretrade.com with the 40% off or whatever promotion they are running?

In this case, not knowing about square trade so much but hearing good things about it, I got the warranty on my 55 inch Plasma for square trade 3 years warranty for $60, this is on top of Costco concierge warranty which is 2 years, making it a total of 5 years.

costco's squaretrade warranty on tv is better deal than buying directly from squaretrade, even with 40% discount when I check 2 months ago. Not sure now.

answer to your question, yes, you can go home and get warrantly directly from squaretrade. Make sure of it's start and end date. Sometimes it runs in parallel with manufacture's warranty, depending if it's new or old, and also depend on which product.
