i dont own beatz either and i couldnt agree more i always see these audiophile snobs go to extremes on sound quality, i mean really are you going to be going in the music business to take it that seriously because i really do hope so? Same thing goes for camera snobs going to extreme lengths for subtleties i just think going too far on these hobbies is seriously expensive and wasteful, unless these guys talking hardcore are in the 1%.
when you listen to higher quality headphones, you'll begin to realize or get a sense of what they're talking about. with the "mids, highs, etc"
I was the same way, wasn't into spending that much on headphones. ended up biting on the ath m50's over the summer because of health (really couldn't do any more than stay at home)
You rediscover songs, and rediscover music.
I'm not kidding either. Yes some of them are "snobs," but it's because headphones like beats are $60-80 quality headphones that retail for a higher price. and there's so much better out there. the reason for good reviews and good marks for beats is that they do sound noticably better than your typical apple earbuds, so to a majority of the buyers-they notice an improvement.
audiophile headphones (high end) start at $500 and there's more like the hd800 which go into the $1500, Plus the necessary Amp, and or soundcards they purchase. but there's also entry level (less than 250), mid fi (250-499) too. There's some good headphones at there that are much better than beats at the same or lower price.
Afterall, Slickdeals is about getting a bang for your buck. Very often-products such as beats don't deliver.

i dont need some smug "audiophile" who think he has supernatural hearing abilites because he spends thousands of dollars on audio equipment telling me what i like...
funny, why do "audiophiles" need spectogram programs to tell if a flac file is ripped from an audio disc instead of being transcoded from a 320kbps mp3? wouldn't their amazing sense of hearing be good enough to tell if a flac file is genuine ?
ps i dont own beats nor am buying them
because over 320 kbp/s (there is an mp3 320 for a reason) is normally hard to tell by the human ear (some will be able to notice a difference though).
And the fact that you can notice bad conversions on a lossy format (I.E. you'll hear them on lossy formats, but they won't be there on a "Perfect Flac. (because there is no loss in a flac)").
There's alot out of headphones available with great bass, there's a specific type of audiophile too; "bassheads"
Macs are indeed better computers than any PC out there. Fact.
It's an integrated system and OS X is possibly the best operating system in the world.
Having currently owned both a PC and Mac, I would respectfully disagree. Money for money, my PC is MUCH faster than the mac. My PC also have flagship components compared to my mac. I also don't spend hundreds for repairs if a component failed, compared to Apple's proprietary design.
