Is this game as horrible as I've heard?

Everyone says it's severely underrated. For this price, it's worth a fair shot.

The lowest it's ever been is $2.00 and that was two years ago on Steam. No point in waiting any longer for another 85-90% off sale to come along if you have any interest whatsoever in picking it up.

FWIW, I loved it. It has its fair share of flaws: janky combat, some inconsistent stealth mechanics, so-so visuals, glitchy. But the voice acting, story, and dialogue system (similar to that of The Walking Dead but vastly superior) are all excellent and help make it easier to look past the unpolished aspects. There are so many different ways to branch off while playing that the game can offer a ton of replay value if you wish to go back after finishing. Every little choice and decision you make can have an impact on the plot going forward, something a lot of games try to do but often times don't achieve. The game can be played as a standard 3rd person shooter but I found myself having a lot more fun going the stealth route (Upgrade pistols and stealth and you're good to go).

Absolutely worth trying out at this price if you have any interest in action-RPGs with espionage themes.

That's a pretty good descriptoin. I would just add that if you like Western Style RPGs, and can overlook a certain amount of bugginess/jank, you willl enjoy this game.

Good point. If you already have a glut of games, $2.00 is still the price to beat. As we have seen from the Steam sale, some games are not being offered this time at a lower (as expected) price. Amazon and other stores like GMG are the ones making the deals this time, and that is a good thing. If we had to rely on one company delivering the goods then we would all be sorely disappointed. If you are just getting your collection started, $.11-$.60 cents is hardly a factor.

This may be enough for most to stay away from this game. I have a sealed copy, and it is not even remotely on the radar to play right now, especially with that little tidbit.

This game I would describe as underrated. I enjoyed it.

It was supposed to be revolutionary, but it was slightly buggy and didn't really revolutionize anything. Which caused people to call it horrible. That caused a second group to form a cult following of it. Is truly somewhere in the middle, enjoyable with tempered expectations.

Honestly, and maybe it isbecause I'm just one of the masses, but my personal experience is that highly rated games on metascore and gamerankings are more fun to play than lower rated games. I know it's not the trendy thing in gaming right now but oh well.

But to each their own. I hope everyone turns out to be as pleased with the game as you did.
