Hidden Springs Maple has grade A quart and half gallons of pure maple syrup on sale for 25% off.

https://hiddenspringsmaple.com/sh...ex&cPath=3

The half gallons are the best deal because you get free shipping at $25. Quarts are also on sale.

Sale price is $27.37
Coupon code for 10% off: 335HSM4
Price per half gallon: $24.64

I actually ordered two half gallons, total order was $49.27 with Free Shipping. Pretty good deal for great syrup.

In my haste, I ordered two individual half gallons. A bit further down on the page, there was a bundle pack, which would have been $49. A few cents worth of savings, but it all adds up..

Vermont has great maple syrup, but I'm a little biased. ;-)

I would assume that syrup would last indefinitely considering it is kept away from contaminates and sealed/stored properly (i.e., not frozen, overheated, etc.)

I'll answer my own question. Googling around, it seems that it will pretty much last if stored properly. This includes refrigerating after opening.
You can put it in the freezer but should be stored in the fridge after opening. Will last a long time but remember it's sugar and can get moldy on top if not refridgerated. Loved to boil the sap after tapping the trees. Theres no smell quite like a sugarhouse. Try it on vanilla ice cream, make sure to warm it up! Wonderful memories..

Can I make alcohol with this?
I've used maple syrup to make a Vanilla Maple Porter. It turned out quite well, and the syrup is mostly fermentable, so I wouldn't see why not.

FYI, although grade A maple syrup is more pure (hence the grade A), grade B actually has a more complex and robust maple flavor. Grade A has more of a straightforward sweet flavor.

I don't know...maybe I'm just used to fake syrup but I tried a sampler of different types of real maple syrup and none really fancied my taste like good ol fashioned High Fructose Corn Syrup.
You're not that out of sync, don't worry. I've grown up on the corner of Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire my whole life, and I've been consuming really high quality maple products my whole life. I myself love real maple syrup, but my sister (who is only a few years younger than me) can't stand real maple syrup, and only likes the fake stuff.

$12.98 for me: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/uncl...navAction=

For a reference ALDI grade A dark amber 8.5oz for $3.99 = 0.4694117647058824 oz ($30.04 half gallon)

This deal is 0.385 oz
Sam's Club 32 oz for $12.98 = 0.405625 oz ($25.96 half gallon)

So this is a good deal if you don't have a Sam's Club membership. I will just stick with ALDI, I use so little it will last quite awhile.
