Just a heads up, there is NO physical product for AppleCare+. It's entirely systematic and attached to the serial number - there's nowhere to register the agreement for AC+.

AppleCare+ covers physical damage as well as manufacturers defects for two years from date if purchase of the device, physical damage at a $49 deductible.

AppleCare covers manufacturers defects for two years from date of purchase of device (three years on computers).

You -cannot- buy AppleCare+ from anyone other than Apple or your carrier, and it must be attached within 30 days of purchase OR at the time of incident at Apple.

Ok, got the same email as those above.

One question though: what would make AppleCare+ vs. SquareTrade more alluring to customers compared to each other. From what it appears, ST seems to offer more (4 replacements), and you also do it through Apple. The only downside (if you're impatient) seems to be the filing the claim.

oh, good call on the 40%, I didn't see that one. debating to get it, or go without. I've had iphone since the iphone 3, and never had coverage....watch me shoot myself in the foot saying it!

I don't know if Squaretrade warranties are transferable, but I know AppleCare follows the device - if you sell your phone, the buyer is covered in case something goes wrong. Usually increases your resale value in most cases.

One way of doing it is Printscreen on PC. It will only get the portion of monitor that is visable. You may need to take several screenshots.

I was aware of the 30 days but didn't know you could only purchase from Apple or Carrier.
Is it true? I just see many retailers selling these so thought it was ok as long as the serial number was provided.

As far as I know, it can't be registered outside of the carrier or Apple's system.

command shift 3 for the whole screen or command shift 4 for a selected part of the screen...
alternatively you can print the page and select pdf and safe the file on your desktop
