The quality is really as good as the expensive ones, and yes, comes with a "free" stylus which doubles as a regular pen in one end. The first one I ordered was a regular black just to make sure this case was for real and then I ordered a pink one, both for my wife's Nexus 7. The wake/sleep function works flawlessly. This is an excellent buy.

how does this case compare as a protective case like
Seidio's Active Case with Cover, Otterbox or Speck FitFolio
and
since i am new to the table world, do i need something to cover the screen?

I have both of this and Blurex.

Blurex is better. It was around $7.00 when it first came out. Now It is about $15. Blurex has stylus holder even though I do not use it. Blurex also has hand strap which I use sometimes. The hand strap comes in handy when you need it. Blurex also has better fit, is easier to clasp on, and unfolds flat (easier to handle).

Nanum (OP's) has different names or no name depending on the vendor. This Ebay seller [ebay.com] sells it for $7.54. It was around $6.50 a week ago. This case is much tighter than Blurex. I struggled to fit my Nexus 7 into the holder. This case is also harder to clasp on and does not unfold flat. But overall it is still a good value even though it does not have such a good fit as Blurex.

Yes. It fully protects the Nexus 7. However, I would still recommend installing a screen protector because Nexus 7 does not have gorilla glass.

I got my 4-pak for $3.93 a few months ago from "shopforlessxz" on ebay. I would rate their product an 8 out of 10. It looks like "shopforlessxz" no longer sells Nexus 7 screen protectors.

I have good experiences with Zydistro's screen protectors for my tablets by Acer and Asus. Their two-pak [ebay.com] for Nexus 7 costs $2.75. I would give them a try.

I am pretty sure you can find other vendors who sell quality screen protectors on Ebay for about a dollar apiece.

This store Yallstore [ebay.com] looks interesting. It looks like a quality store. But I have never bought anything from them before.

I purchased something from yallstore and did not have any issues.

For those that bought this, how is the quality?
