Deal Details

Yes, I know there are a million Best Buy clearance threads today, and they are for TVs, but I think this one is actually a good deal for a 42" LED TV. Reviews are 4.2/5 stars (12 reviews) on Best Buy's website. I just jumped on it online for store pickup. Obviously, YMMV as with all B&M/clearance deals, but worth a shot.

Just picked up mine from Best Buy (Chicago area), still in box. Bought it for the great deal, but not sure if I'm going to keep it. What is the general consensus? It is worth $250 to keep it in inventory for the future, or take it back.

No mention of built-in HD tuner on this one? Looking for a cheap tv to stick in the basement while working out or in the garage, and would like a HD tuner. Sound not as important as I will probably run it through components anyway.

Just got a 10x loupe. The panel seems to be a PVA, maybe samsung. It looks similar to 55D8000 [staticflickr.com] except it's inverted vertically and is more jagged around the top and bottom edges. Maybe it was a early production of PSA PVA?

I think it's a good panel, i can't see that much since the loope is only 10x.

I took a picture of the pixel structure of this panel. It's look to be an AUO MVA3 which is a decent panel that is probably a similar or same panel found in the Vizio E420VSE.

Just picked up the last one of these in the Casper, WY Best Buy for $249.99 plus tax. Hooked it up and have been VERY happy with it, seems/feels like a much more expensive TV than what I paid for it! Wish I could find another one close by....

I'm also satisfied with the TV. I used the settings in this thread but turned the brightness down to 58, which seemed to make the blacks more pronounced.

Tell us what you think of it.

My initial eye impressioimpressions using my loupe were that it may have been a PSA PVA panel, which is made by either Samsung or AU. My first picture made me think it was a MVA.

I have taken another picture using my loupe and believe that my initial impression may have been correct, making this a PSA panel. I'm not completely sure though.

The picture below is rotated in a horizontal alignment. This is not how the pixels are aligned, it's just that the image was rotated. The pixels should be vertical.

Best Buy has Pioneer VSX-921-K for $74 clearance. Is this a good deal?
Okay, not gonna lie, I skipped a few pages in this thread. But I saw this and never saw an answer as to whether or not it was legit. If it is that's a hell of a deal and one I am kinda sad I missed out on! Anyone know if it is/was for real?

This TV is awful if you don't have HDTV box to go with it. I just have the regular cable box and the picture is very blurry. I use it mainly for Xbox, so I am good.
