Sounds like you need a BUSINESS, not CONSUMER grade machine.

Business class machine will typically have a sub-frame made out of magnesium, hard drive is shock protected. It will also have docking port /setup for a port replicator (docking station) in which not only charges unit- but has display.keyboard, networking ports.

Next step up is a "ruggedized" machine, EG Panasonic Tough Book

PS: Current dell D620 held up well= I'd go with new version of that.

Someone run a scan of system and post info about the motherboard, memory, etc

CPUID I think has a option once run to save to txt file.

I'm using this laptop right now.

It has one 4GB stick already. You can add 1 more stick of 4GB to make it 8GB total.

Pretty good deal for a laptop considering it has a big screen and a quad core with AMD graphics.
