Daily Deal Alert Summary e-mails
I think my Daily Deal Alert Summary e-mail alert has expired and I am no longer getting the daily summary email. I have searched everywhere but can't figure out how to sign back up. Can someone help me with this? Please and thank you. |

check mark the deal alert(s) you've created, click on the edit button right next to it. then change your option in how they're sent to you. you may choose private message instead of email. |

First, check your deal alerts page to make sure that the daily summary alert actually is gone and no longer listed there. And if it's there, and not expired, then this may be an issue that the web devs need to look in to. But if there is no daily summary listed on your deal alerts page anymore, then you should be able to re-create most of the above from within your 'add a deal alert' page. You can choose to get a daily email when, for example, any deal in Hot Deals reaches at least 2 or more thumbs up. Or an alert for any thread that hits the Front Page, etc. (though by the time it hits there, it might not last long afterwards )To set up an alert for Hot Deals, for example, for any thread that hits at least 2 or more thumbs up, just choose Hot Deals as the Target Forum, leave the keyword/phrase field blank, set the thumbs up rating to at least 2 thumbs up minimum, and select to send it to you either via email, PM or both daily. (if you originally got the daily summary set up by entering a giveaway, then choose the 5 thumb up rating, so the summary will be similar. Or set it lower, between 2 and 5, if you want more deals in it). Make sure that you click on the Add button after you've chosen the forum, rating and email/PM delivery options, or it won't save your choices. Screenshot attached of generally what and how, if it helps. Last edited by widgit; 12-31-2012 at 09:46 PM.. |

To set up a daily summary, you can do as I mentioned in my post above . If you want every thread that hits a certain thumbs up rating, then add an alert for whichever forum, set the rating for at least 2 thumbs up or more (that's the minimum thumb up rating to be able to leave the keyword search field blank), choose whether you want it sent to you via email, PM, or both, then set the Send/when option to either 'Daily' or 'Both' (which will send instantly and also as a daily summary) and click the Add button. See the screenshot I have above for an example of how to set up a daily alert for all threads that hit at least a 2 thumb up rating.Example: To set up a deal alert for all threads in Hot Deals that reach a 5 thumb up rating in Hot Deals (which is what the giveaway page bonus entry would have set up for you) Target forum: Hot Deals Keyword/phrase: Leave blank Short phrase: you can also leave blank Minimum Thread Rating: set to 5 thumbs up Send/when dropdowns: For the Send dropdown: choose either email, PM, or both For the When dropdown: choose either Daily or Both Then click on the Add button to save your choices If you want a daily summary of specific search terms, then again choose your target forum, add your keyword(s), set your minimum thumb rating if any and then set the delivery to either 'daily' or 'both', but not just 'instantly'. Example: All threads in Hot Deals with the word 'batteries' in the OP: Target forum: Hot Deals Keyword/phrase: batteries Short phrase: you can leave blank if you wish Minimum Thread Rating: set to any thumb up rating you want, or choose 'ignore rating' for all threads with that keyword even if no thumbs up yet. (the 'ignore rating' option will send you an alert as soon as a thread is posted, without waiting for it to reach a certain thumb up rating. This option requires that you have at least something in the keyword field.) Send/when dropdowns: For the Send dropdown: choose either email, PM, or both For the When dropdown: choose either Daily or Both Then click on the Add button to save your choices If your deal alert has a specific search term in the keyword/phrase entry box, then you can set your thumb up rating as low as you wish, no matter if your delivery choice is daily or instant. It's only the summary of all threads, with no specific keyword/search term specified, that require a minimum of 2 thumbs up setting, so that the servers won't get overloaded. Hopefully this will help If not, post again and I'll be happy to clarify or explain further

Thanks for your help Widget, I appreciate you taking the time to help me sort this out.
It must have been one of the giveaways I have signed up for since I have never created an alert to receive daily emails. It must have been created when I signed up for a giveaway. I tried to find the giveaways page but couldn't find it. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks again for your help! |
