I'm not sure, but I think Beach sold 6 or 9 thousand of them in a day last ebay deal. That sold ticker creates urgency to buy! It doesn't matter to an SDer; but there are people who mainly shop only ebay or Amazon; blind to the fact that there is Beach, Andromeda; buydig, even TD. . .thus ebay is expanding the customer base.

And then I would imagine these ebay deals are related to a specific manufacturer rebate or other deal to the seller for a specific lot. "Sell this 5k shipment of these with a 2 day kickback window". On the manufacturer side, their incentive is to dump some inventory quickly, while avoiding this special price becoming known as the going price.

Ebay/Paypal might offer these giants special incentives.

Plus it is another avenue to sell. Customer A could be grabbing the ebay deal from a specific lot; and at the same time Customer B is buying one for $20 more from their "normal" inventory.

For 16gb... lowest was $199 imo.

Going to hold off on this one. Waiting for a NJ tax free deal, and if the price drops to $199 for 32 GB model, I would be all over it.

Good points. I am not sure why Google would dump inventory since many are sold out? Also regarding, kickbacks using "advertising" money... I can't imaging that Google have kick-back as they are already cutting the profits pretty close (but then again, Google probably has a ton of money). Although, these are the 32GB units which gives them at least an additonal $40 profit margin over the $199, so maybe not so close. Heh, too bad, the 10" isn't available at a discount.
