 They've got a long hard road ahead of them. I've dealt with this shit-for-brains application and even more shit-for-brains client staff for eight long years, and they're farking welcome to have 'em. It's obvious they're not happy they have to perform these mind-numbing exercises. But guess what? The job is nothing but a lot of the same mind-numbing shit over and over and over again. Until the business people come up with some new and amazingly stupid request.I really have a TON of empathy for my boss in Los Angeles right now. The wonks are gonna try to re-write stuff that's working perfectly fine, just because the code is ugly as fark. Let them go ahead and see where that gets them. It's a hell of a difficult, finicky, and ugly application, but at least it farking works. Messing with the wrong parts of it will cause them tons of grief, and that's if they don't get themselves fired or just quit. Remember when you were young?

I'm really not looking forward to my new assignment. It's Java and a truly farking tangled mess of code. My only salvation is a co-worker in the next cube who's a true wizard with this stuff. He's going to help ease me into working with it, eventually.
