Returned the Permatex threadlock I had the kid pick up, because when we went to squeeze some out, instead of coming out the tip, the bottom split and splooged everywhere.
Watched Wreck-it Ralph (pretty decent).
Made biscuits and gravy.
Took the fuel sender out of the MB again, because it wasn't giving any reading since I cleaned it out. Turns out one of the sensor wires had managed to hop out of it's guide channel and wasn't between the contacts. Put it back where it belonged, and spent some time doing a better soldering job on the low fuel light sensor ("reserve" in German car terminology). Appears to have been successful, visual check of the tank while the sender was out made it look like roughly half a tank, and the gauge now reads a little under half.
Picked up an LED light clip for a buck at the dollar store yesterday, it's rather a bit bright out of the box for my purposes (lighting up the dashboard until I fix whatever's wrong there, rheostat or light bulb). Did some testing with a paper towel covering the lens to see how much light I need to block. Came inside, stole a piece of construction paper from the kid and cut out a little circle of purple and put that over the lens on the inside. Seems just about perfect, enough light to read the gauges, but that's it.
And I've been working on laundry throughout the day.

fast forward to after the game is over, UNC has once again lost to Duke. one of the guys who is a UNC fan comes out of the bathroom, and he has made himself a necktie out of toilet paper. it was funny, and i went to my purse and grabbed an orange highlighter.
i told him to stand still, and proceeded to draw a heart onto this guy's toilet paper necktie. everyone in the room is laughing. at this point, i'm almost done drawing the heart, and the guy tilts his beer bottle over my head and proceeds to pour beer onto my head.
this was, in my mind, completely uncalled for. i'm drawing a heart onto a toilet paper necktie with an orange highlighter, and suddenly the guy pours his BEER onto my HEAD.
i was upset, more upset than i really care to admit. he said, "oops, my bad, i didn't mean to waste that much beer on you." that pushed me over the edge, and i immediately went to the kitchen to grab all of my things and i started to leave (not even bothering to find the friend i came with, i was just gonna leave without saying goodbye to anyone).
then the owner of the house, who up until this point had all but professed his love for me because of our Jimmy Buffett kindred spirits - this owner guy walks into the kitchen and looks in my bag, and actually says to me - "I'm just making sure you're not stealing any of my stuff."
at that point, i couldn't hold back anymore and the tears just started flowing. i walked out to my car, drove away, and cried/sobbed the entire way home.
long story short: people suck, and if i could go the rest of my life without meeting any new people, i'd be happy.
