January 1 - December 31, 2013 version
Welcome to the official SD My Coke Rewards Discussion Thread, proud to talk MCR since 2006!
(We often discuss Coke promotions, (texting games, sweepstakes, etc.), which use MCR membership info to signup, or offer MCR points as prizes.)

Current MCR Bonus Points, (which do not count in the 120-point weekly limit)
  • 10 Bonus Points are prizes in the MCR Merry Minutes of Winning [mycokerewards.com] instant win game.
  • 100 Bonus Points for signing up for Southwest Airlline's Rapid Rewards program [eprize.com].
  • Double Points on caps by purchasing beverages at Kangaroo Express and entering the keyword "kangaroo" and then the MCR cap code. Limit 2 Double cap Points per member, per day. Valid July 1 - Dec. 31, 2013.
My Coke Rewards (MCR) FAQ:

- How may I contact them?
  • Phone: 1-866-674-2653 anytime 9am-7pm EST Monday through Friday to reach an agent directly
  • email address: mycokerewards.support@na.ko.com
  • Ask Chip, (formerly Allysa and Hank) feature on the MCR site
- When does the promotion end? The program will end on December 31, 2014, (but often has been renewed).

- Codes with 12 characters are still be accepted; (still working as of Dec. 30, 2013.)

- Weekly Point Limits, Invalids & Start and End of Weeks:

Change: The weekly point limit is changing from 120 points per week, (ppw) to 100 ppw, effective Jan. 13, 2014. 120 ppw will continue until the end of the "Coke week" at 11:59:59 Jan. 12, 2014.

Up to 120 points per week are permitted to be entered per account per week. A week starts at 12:00 a.m. E.T., each Monday, and ends at 11:59 p.m. E.T. each following Sunday.

Any Bonus Points earned are not included in the 120 point weekly limit.

Change: There is a weekly limit of 10,000 ppw.

From the 2014 rules:
"The current phase of the Program begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on January 1, 2014 and is scheduled to end at 11:59 p.m. ET on December 31, 2014 (the "Redemption Period"), but Sponsor reserves the right to shorten, extend, suspend, modify, or cancel the Program, at its discretion, at any time.

"Codes may be entered beginning 12:00 a.m. ET on January 1, 2014 until 11:59 p.m. ET on November 30, 2014 (the "Collection Period")."

"However, if an Enrollee enters 20 invalid codes on a given day Enrollee will be unable to enter any more codes that day."

- Inactivity

"If a Member’s Account has remained inactive for a period of 90 days or more, the Member will forfeit any points remaining in the Account, without compensation. Failure to either credit points to an Account or redeem points from an Account constitutes inactivity for purposes of this condition."

If so, how does one explain Elhaugen's troubles?

I just keep requesting amoe codes until it says "I've requested too many."

I only get 10, on the 11th it stops.
That is exactly what I do....I would lose track every single time, so just kept going until it stopped me!

Hmmmm. I have a small number of CZ caps. Should I input them now for the entries or just use the AMOEs?

Use the AMOE cause its pointless to use the caps, unless you also want the 3points to fill your weekly points. Save the caps for next cz sweeps/double points.

So is it a better strategy to cover every single square once or to cover say, the first 25 squares 4x each...? I'd be lowering the amount of prizes that I might get an entry for but for the ones I do get, I'd have higher chances. Hmmm...

The Squares Bowl site can be a little buggy. For me, I've run into a glitch a couple of times and the next page won't load after submitting a code. All I got was a blank screen.

If that happens to you, hit the back button to reload the page. Then click the Squares Bowl banner at the top of the page. If you hit the back button and try to submit again it will say you've already entered it and you will lose that pick.

Also, don't try to breeze through your picks. Let each page load completely or you may run into a glitch. My glitches happened when I was going too fast. I'm on dial up, so pages don't load that quickly.
Thanks. I think I did hit the back button and try to submit again. Got the white screen of death before, and I think I just went for the reload button on the browser bar. Can't complain too much - I'm on my second round of picking squares. Finished off the entire board for 4 family accounts on Friday. And no, I am not gainfully employed (anymore) so I can spend all my time getting freebies from as many brands as possible...

I'm covering all squares, and putting in two entries per square in some sort of pattern.

I also won an autographed pic of Ryan Seacrest tonight. (I wonder if anyone would trade that for an autographed pic of a major guest on his New Year's Show.)
I made that comment simply because I'm a fan of one of the stars of his last New Year's Eve broadcast. Today, however, on the AP wire I came across a story.

Coca-Cola has signed country music star Taylor Swift to promote Diet Coke, per sources close to the situation.

The move comes on the heels of Pepsi penning a $50 million deal with Beyoncé Knowles six weeks ago and largely underscores an ongoing battle for the youth/music market between the soda industry's two titans. For instance, Coke recently invested $10 million in the digital music service Spotify.

In terms of the Diet Coke-Taylor Swift deal, the singer-songwriter will not appear in the brand's Super Bowl campaign, the sources said. Swift has also served as a brand spokesperson for Cover Girl in recent years.

Meanwhile, a media rep for the Atlanta-based Coke declined to comment.

AdAge first reported the development.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Thanks to record-breaking album sales, Taylor Swift is often associated with the colors gold and platinum, but now she’s officially adding some silver to her collection. Diet Coke today announced a long-term partnership with the superstar, making her a centerpiece of the brand’s iconic Stay Extraordinary platform, which celebrates the self-assured and aspirational people who enjoy Diet Coke everyday.

Six-time GRAMMY winner Swift will serve as a program ambassador for several Diet Coke initiatives and will be integrated into all key marketing efforts for the brand – including advertising, retail activation, experiential and more. In an evolution of Diet Coke’s Stay Extraordinary campaign, Swift will be featured in television, print and digital advertising scheduled to launch this spring.

"Taylor's unmatched business savvy, talent and drive to succeed are an inspiration to everyone. She's an extraordinary individual and a wonderful symbol of achievement," said Katie Bayne, President, North America Brands, The Coca-Cola Company. "Taylor tells us that every day Diet Coke plays a small part in helping her stay extraordinary. It's one of the many reasons she's the ideal partner to represent our brand."

“I’ve said for years that Diet Coke just ‘gets me’ and my lifestyle. I’m so excited about our new partnership,” said Swift.

The partnership will put fans at the forefront of everything Swift and Diet Coke do together. Diet Coke’s social media channels will serve as a Backstage Pass for fans. Ongoing videos, photos and updates from Swift will give fans a rare glimpse into her extraordinary life and career.

Diet Coke also will give fans extraordinary access to Swift — both online and in person – throughout her highly anticipated Red Tour, which kicks off March 13 in Omaha, Neb. This week, Swift celebrates her second consecutive week at #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart with “I Knew You Were Trouble.”, the second worldwide chart-topper from her 5+ million-selling current album RED. Taylor was just awarded Best International Act honors at last week’s Premios Principales Awards in Spain.

Fans can “like” Diet Coke on Facebook and follow @DietCoke on Twitter and Instagram to stay up-to-date on the very latest news, details and opportunities that will be announced in coming weeks.

About Taylor Swift

Lauded by The New York Times as "one of the most important pop artists of the last decade," and by Rolling Stone as "one of the few genuine rock stars we've got these days," 23 year-old Taylor Swift is a six-time GRAMMY winner, and is the youngest winner in history of the music industry's highest honor, the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. With the 2012 release of her album RED, she is the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist ever) to twice have an album hit the 1 million first-week sales figure. She holds the record for the biggest digital sales week ever for a song by a woman, and for the second-largest song sales week overall, as well as the worldwide iTunes record for highest ever first-week album sales. With RED, Taylor became the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at #1 with three consecutive studio albums.

Taylor has an album on Rolling Stone's prestigious The 50 Greatest Albums of All Time (by women) list, and Time magazine has named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world. She is Billboard's youngest-ever Woman of the Year, and her more than 100 industry award wins have included the American Music Awards' Artist of the Year, the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music's Entertainer of the Year and three European Music Awards.

Taylor, who writes all of her own songs, has career record sales in excess of 26 million albums and 75 million song downloads worldwide, and her two most recent albums are two of only 18 albums in the entire history of music to sell more than 1 million copies in a single week. She has had singles top both the country and pop radio charts around the globe, and has thus far scored 11 #1 singles across multiple radio formats. She is one of the top 5-selling digital music artists worldwide, and is the top-selling digital artist in country music history.

On the one hand, I am excited. This could mean big things for Coke, and for Taylor. (And she genuinely likes Diet Coke!) In addition, I could get some more Taylor stuff through this. That said, I'm not that fond of her doing merchandising deals, and it does sort of dissuade me from a rumor I'd like to believe about her.

(Minor quibble with Coke's press release- she has a role in writing all her songs on her normal albums. Some of them she does with others, though many of my favorites (like the ones on "Speak Now") are all done by her.)

True- though I'm not a tween and I'm still a Swiftie. (I did post a while back about getting a small but good haul of caps from when I went to her concert- though some were from the next day as well.) Perhaps parents of tween Swifties can earn favors with their kids by getting Swift stuff for them?

I'm going for all the squares. Figure no matter what the score I'll have at least one chance in, and I'll get the Coke Zero coupon.

So if Taylor didn't drink Diet Coke she would be a chubby chick? LOL
