Beat me to it!!! Seems like a nice gig though. Too bad I already have a Nexus 10.

Are you still in the trial period of Amazon Student (6 months)? I'm thinking of signing up, but I'd also like to get in on the Prime videos and don't want to wait for 6 months to sign up for Prime. |

However, no, during your free trial you can not watch free prime videos. If you pay for membership, initially or once your free trial is over, you can. |

The size slots in between the Nexus 7 and 10. To me, the form factor is better than either. The screen, while not as high resolution as the Nexus 10, is indistinguishable to my eye in resolution and superior in color. The negative, of course, is Amazon's system versus open android. There will be roms you can load on eventually, and you can root it now, but that's a lot of hassle for many people. You can sideload apps without rooting as well. I don't mind the Amazon UI so much except for the glaring omission of the task-switcher button that is on the standard android screen. All in all, for the money if you want more screen real estate than the Nexus 7, it's a good deal. If you don't mind the smaller size, I'd stick with the N7. |

The Nexus7 has a better CPU and GPU processor, NFC, longer battery life, better camera, weights less and comes with a better OS (standard). If prices were equal, I would rather have the N7. And since the N7 is cheaper, it's a no brainer IMHO, unless you need a bigger tablet. |

you would be shocked how many apps have been ported over now. it never used to be like this in 2011 instead i bought an iPad. |

![]() To me the screen trumped the other differences with comparison to the N7, and the N10 is too much money. But I can certainly see why someone would go the other route. That's why I said the N7 should be your first choice if the screen size isn't that important. |
