Walmart has new "rollback" pricing on Goodyear tires, prices start at $59/tire. Reviews look good.

See link here: http://www.walmart.com/cp/Goodyea...sdir=sasc&

Or here: http://www.walmart.com/cp/1077064..._MGW_TIRES

You may find better deals at Tirerack.com, but Walmart sure is convenient.

hahaha

Anyway...

There are only a few reviews.
I usually buy from Tirerack which has a great review system.
Unfortunately Viva 2 is not sold by them so they are not reviewed.

The following links show issues with the Viva 2 tires. Both safety complaints and one from another online poster show issues with separation, i.e. different layers within the tire actually separate (also happens when people drive over curbs or the tire gets hit hard in an accident). These can cause severe shaking and even blowouts, so it can kill you - once had a tire blowout at 80 mph in Oklahome, and if there had been any traffic I would be dead, I was all over the road before I managed to stop.

No idea of the relative numbers, and this is one of the more common reasons for tire failure - so take this with a grain of salt. The last review site is for the Goodyear Integrity, which the previous link states is what the Viva 2 was based. Unless you need tires NOW, everything I've linked to sets off my "Uh, maybe this isn't such a good buy" warning signals. There are much better ones out there for less than $100 more (for 4) if you watch for your sales. OP found a bargain priced tire, at an excellent price - it's a shame the quality isn't better.

I have never bought tires from Walmart. Does the price include installation? I get it that it does not include the environment taxes and fees, which is added to the checkout. But it mentions nothing about installation. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Walmart's ""Roll back" is not a sale. It is marketing.

I am watching P175/65R14 81S Goodyear viva 2 - I got in 2009 for $50.xx with "Rollback" from $56. Last (2012) February they increased price to $60.50 with "roll back" from $68.

Walmart NEVER has sales. It is regular price or clearance.

Yes it includes installation (free tire mount). They also want new stem valves installed. 75c fee disposal added at installation (in MI). I used to get from them lifetime rotation/and balancing. Now it is only Lifetime tire balancing.

Another frakking' relative of mine needs tires but is so utterly clueless... I'm afraid they are going to get talked into the $600+ installation + tires package. I bought tires for them on Dec. 31st @ Sears to take advantage of the B3G1 + $35 off deal. Total with Tires, Mount & Balance, New Rubber Valve Stems, & Disposal Fee + taxes was $383 and some change but although I set up the installation to be done this Friday by the relative (had to fill out some Identification verification questions in order to set that up that was nothing more than publicly available information that anyone with a few dollars could have bought... but I digress) anyway Sears still hasn't sent me the order ready for pick up email... so I have no idea if it's going to happen. IDK if they expect to send out the email sometime later (Friday) giving no advanced time or what.
But I had remembered seeing some tire sales advertised @ Walmart on Blk Friday, and although they aren't showing the tires/quality I was looking at before it might just be time to go with a bargain tire like these and call it a freaking day!

shake head
It looked to ME like the Mounting was included if you buy the tires @ Walmart print out a copy of the pricing sheet if you have issues, but the Balancing is extra $8 a competitive price especially for lifetime balancing.
The cost for mounting $5 @ the nearest to me walmart's with tire centers is when you bring in tires you bought elsewhere.
