$37 - Android 4.0 Mini PC Stick MK802 1GB @ Amazon (Prime Eligible)

Yeah it should be as it will use the faster Tegra 3 processor but it is also $65 more than this.

Yeah it is $65 more but also comes with a controller. Not only is it better because of the Tegra 3 but also the R&D. These Android sticks use kernels that are built for tablets but have been modified for the stick. OUYA has it OS built from the ground up.

Yes but also Ouya is going to be full on rootable with so many people purchasing one it should have a solid rooting community. I'm looking forward to seeing how well it does and to see if I could pair one with a Motoralo Atrix Lapdock at all. I just wish it was out already and not come April or whatever because the longer it takes for them to put it out the faster the hardware will be outdated.

anyway to use this as a DVR (with an attached hard drive for storage space?)

Yeah I hear you. I was one of the lucky ones that got in on the $95 package. Remember the OUYA Tegra 3 will be the best to date for 2 reasons, 1 is that it's the upgraded Tegra 3 that's in the Infinity and not the basic one that's in the Nexus 7 and 2 is that every Tegra 3 out right now is built with power consumption in mind. This Tegra 3 is going to be optimized to use it's full potential with a constant A/C power supply.

does the imito mx2 compare to any of these mentioned? I'm looking for the best bang. I don't think I want to shell out over $100 for a cadillac model. thanks in advance

I recently bought the MK 802 II model and returned it as it froze on me after a couple boots.
These devices basically run the mobile OS, and are not as good when connected to a TV.
These devices need to mature a lot in terms of processing speed, and the OS itself.

Look on Aliexpress for "MK808 B", you can get the dual core version of what's in this deal, much faster cpu, more onboard storage, onboard bluetooth, etc. for around $50 (but ship times from china are longer, of course.) The MK808B is the REAL "latest generation" of android stick. Possibly the most important distinction is that it ships with Android 4.1 so you don't have to fuss with romming the thing. Of course on Aliexpress, buyer beware.

I have an MK808 and I can't access my wifi network. It shows all the surrounding networks but doesn't show mine. I don't have this issue with any other wifi device i own.
