Screw Amazon's add-on program. It's absolutely ridiculous. It makes me so goddamn angry. I paid $79 a year for unlimited free 2-day shipping on everything Amazon stocks -- not on some things that they decide are profitable enough. If I wanted a $25 minimum, I wouldn't pay for Prime. Shipping is ALWAYS free when you spend $25. Amazon pisses me off by constantly adding streaming BS. I joined Amazon Prime well before they were streaming anything. I didn't come to Amazon for streaming -- I have Netflix and Hulu for that. I wish they would stop wasting money on streaming material and keep giving me free shipping on these things. I wish they would at least separate Prime shipping and Streaming services and charge separately for them.

And I am further annoyed because they offer free 2-day shipping on plenty of ridiculously heavy items. My girlfriend's parents own a company and they ship heavy furniture that Amazon offers with Prime shipping. They are often shipping 120lb packages via 2-day or overnight shipping all the way from the East Coast to Hawaii and places on the West Coast that cost more to ship than they do to buy. If they wanted to institute a pound limit to the free 2-day shipping, that would be reasonable. But on these small items.......it's ridiculous. They are just going to keep expanding the list of things that are only available as add-ons until Prime becomes worthless....and it's just too bad. It's disappointing. I guess no great deals last forever.....and Amazon prime is going downhill quickly with this program.

In the meantime, I don't order ANY add-on items on principle. I know I'm not going to make a difference. I just refuse to support it.

Absolutely - their add-on program has convinced me to not renew my Prime next time around. I'll shop elsewhere.

I agree. I never noticed the add-on items until recently. Has it always been there or is it something new? also have never used Amazon Prime Video...makes no sense since Prime is a primarily a shipping service.

Its fairly new. And i agree, its annoying. At the very least allow Prime members to get free standard shipping. I can understand them not offering 2 day shipping on cheaper items because it doesn't make sense to pay $8 shipping on a item that ships for free for $3, especially as prime members can use Amazon alot.

Why is this thread title use the terms "Add-on items"? Won't it make more sense to use the term "filler" since even non add-on items can quality for $25 for those without prime.
And why do we even need a thread for filler in hot deal forum unless those items are hot deal.

So are those Add-on Items mentioned hot deal by itself? If not, may want to remove those.

I highly recommend the Kyjen Squeakin' Eggs Plush Dog Toys, 3-Pack $3.37. My dogs LOVE these, even though they aren't too into playing catch with a tennis ball.

I agree 100% with what has been said here. I used to pay for my Prime for the shipping, not for a "chance" at free shipping, and definitely not for the very poor video selection offered.

In addition, Amazon stopped fighting California over state sales tax. So tax is now tacked on to everything I order. So here I am spending $80/year for no free shipping on these items that Amazon deems too expensive, and an extra 10% cost to me for every item?
I dumped Prime and told Amazon why.
