Sony NEX-5R w/ 18-55mm & 55-210mm lenses - $698 via Amazon

Same situation with mine...had not received the cancellation email when I did online chat with Amazon to inquire why my order was no longer showing up. They had me reorder the camera with both lenses and then adjusted the price to 698.00. Also received the $25.00 credit that was mentioned in the email from Amazon that finally showed up after I replaced my order.

anyone who DID receive the email successfully able to get them to re-instate the order w/the 55-210 lens at the 689 price?

If you have received your order, call or chat and politely ask if there's anoter shipment coming as the 55-210mm is not included and you ordered or your order clearly says "and 55-210mm lens". Once they categorically states that Amazon made a mistake and it is their fault, deliver the blow by saying, "so is Amazon sending me the 55-210mm lens separately or will it just refund me the cost of the lens?". Then hope for the best . . . good luck.

Customer service said that they never honored this deal..do u hav an order number if u made it?

Did anyone get their nex and decide to return? If they offered a discount, I'd be willing to buy at cost + shipping/paypal fees + I'll throw in a $25 amazon gift card.

Bingo. just called Amazon cust. service, spoke about their high reputation, and then discussed the recent camera price screw up about the nex-5 with 18-55 and 55-210 lens for $698...........and then politely asked if i could get that deal....(current price on amazon is $946..For this camera with 2 lens bundle which shows as "Sony NEX5RK/B2BDL NEX5RK 16.1 MP Compact System Camera with 3-Inch LCD (Black) and 55-210mm Lens Bundle".

Initially was rejected, then expressed my disappointment and asked if he could do something as 1 time courtesy...and BINGO........he placed an order for 2 of these packages, each priced at $946...and once order was placed while on phone with him, he readjusted price on both to $698 each...asked if i could order third one too...and was told no...., but was able to order 2 of the camera with 2 lens package for $698 each (current price of $946 on amazon).... am wondering whose lucky face i saw this morning when i got up...

Might try that again tomorrow to order some more...

oh snap - I originally didn't get the lens, was offered 20% discount or return it, I decided to return it (but I haven't dropped it off at UPS yet). Then, I saw your (and others') posts about still getting a refund - went to amazon chat right now, told him the situation about what I've been offered but then learned that others were given the option of a refund for the price difference that the new package costs, and he quickly and simply said "okay, I will go ahead and issue a refund of $248".

I got my order today but only has one lens. Plan to chat with Amazon tomorrow and ask for the second lens or the difference between price. Will let you know the result.

i chatted with customer service today and was able to score the deal for $698, thanks Dealman227 for the info you provided here, reped.

Nope sorry...got so excited, just closed the chat after my order was placed. Try it by chatting or speaking to couple of agents....seems like "it's a case of just getting lucky"...make sure 2 start your chat with how good amazon customer service is etc etc and that u r deeply hurt by the pricing error and would like to have camera with same pricing.....Good luck!!!!

So you did get your order cancelled and received the $25 amazon gift credit? If yes, that's kind of case close for them as a settlement. Anyway, thanks for your advice, will try a couple times more.
