Many of the solar eco-drives are supposed to last 6 months without light. Maybe it was not exposed to enough light in the past months, and if it was, maybe a warranty issue should be pursued?

I am not trying to dictate how one lives - but didn't you have any other more reliable source of time around you such as a cell phone or house clock ...etc?

Ashford release alot deal on watch... I'm lookin for some leather type of watch with solar power. never seem one on that price.

Buy Seiko 5. It's the most durable. My dad still has his since 1970. It has been through war and back.

I didn't realize the watch was unreliable. I had owned the watch for two years and never had a problem. Lesson learened. It could have happened to anyone.

Also, yeah, I had my cell phone and iPod sitting right next to me and there was a wall clock up on the wall in the living room. When I check the time I don't check every clock in the house for accuracy.

When i was in vnam(1968) i bought myself 21 jewel automatic day/date Seiko 5 watch, I believe i paid about 25 dollars each. i bought the same watch for my younger brother...a few years later(1971?), he and my other brother went to the lake...somehow he dropped the watch in the lake....they were in a rubber raft and luckily it was not far from shore. They tried diving for it but it was just too deep. They went back a couple weeks later when the water level was lower.
They got the watch ... i dont remember if they had to dive for it or just pick it out of the bottom...the watch didnt leak and it still works ...

Im sold on Seiko watches!!! I stilll have mine.
PS this one says WATERPROOF on the back, i believe newer watches say WATER RESISTANT
