Fail. I mean total FAIL. This tablet sucks because SD slot, but iPads are better, even though they have no SD slot. Yeah, that makes sense. |

I'm currently using a rooted Nook HD and I love it. I've waited and waited for a deal on the 7" Nexus but it never came. Got a pretty good deal on the HD so I'm content for now. Definitely recommended if people don't want to throw down this kind of cash.

Also, iPad/iPhone owners, by their very nature, are happy to waste, er, spend money on overpriced things. So app developers feel that they are more likely to pay for apps versus android users. Once Android gets more loyal users and they demand app support, the companies will wisen up.
iStuff and Kindle Fire is easier to develop for because the differences in the respective platforms is minute. And they can work closely with Apple and Amazon to make any required changes, etc. But with generic Android, there is so much openness that it impacts the ability for any one app to work on all platforms. HOWEVER, many app developers just ignore porting to android because they are lazy. The Wired app, I mentioned before, works perfectly fine if I sideload it on my Nexus7. But Conde Nast refuses to put any effort into expanding the support hardware. They will however let me pay for each issue directly from Google, even if I have a subscription already. Google realizes this is a major problem, and it's one of the things they covered in the last Google I/O Developers conference. The new android versions are designed to be more agnostic to hardware, from an app perspective, to make things easier to develop for. They also are implementing better protections for apps to, because many developers don't like how easy it is to pirate android apps. |

I picked up my Nexus 7 2nd hand for $150 (kinda high but if I don't like it I can resell it for probably about as much). It is amazing that you can buy any of these quality devices for near $200. Competition is great for the customers. |
