These type of generic crap cables with no specification always scare me. I agree with others, get the bluerigger for $13 if you want an update to date 1.4 cable with audio-return etc. This generic one may not even be high-speed. The build quality of some of those China made generic crap cables are not worth it sometimes.
I believe this is not a "hot deal" either. I think this is the normal price.
I appreciate your attention to detail. However, I was trying to keep it simple for everyone by calculating a total amount. The next cheapest option is $5.99, but for free shipping you have to either have Prime or have to spend at least $25.00.
Six of one, half a dozen of the other. If you prefer to spend more for "free shipping", go for it!
But your title is incorrect. It's $5.94 shipped. Yes, I'll spend a few pennies more, if I need an item for a filler for my order to get free shipping.
all HDMI cables are rated for 1080i. Most of them will go 1080p but they are only RATED for interlaced.
Trust me, I'm all about cheap HDMI cables and think that even spending $1/ft is a waste but the problem I had recently led me to fully understand the difference between 1.3 and 1.4 cables. There is a difference.
I saw that too. I guess my absolute statement is flawed in theory. Fortunately out of the reviews for this actual product[amazon.com] a couple say it handles 1080p fine. The one that says it can't could easily be explained by a configuration issue with his computer/setup.
I was just going by my experience. I've purchased 20 or so HDMI cables in my life, all cheap from the internet, and never had an issue using them with my 1080p setups.
It probably is not. I bought a 25" HDMI cable recently at this price from Amazon that claimed 1080p capable, however, it would only run at 1080i which was fine for my desktop (I used the cable to occasionally run my desktop on the 60" in the living room) but became problematic when trying to launch full-screen games at the default 60Hz.
I personally went with this[amazon.com] one. Basically the same thing, $1 cheaper. There is 1 1-Star review that claims bad/no 3D (v1.4)support(maybe he just got a bad cable), doesn't bother me I just want a good quality cable for a desktop computer to TV run.
So guess I'm providing a 2nd alternative to the OP's cheaper cable.
