SONY BDP-BX59 Blu Ray player @ costco 79.99 AC.

As I'm not a Costco member, I was able to get the BDPS590 for $79.99 PM'd to Costco at another major electronics retailer because I happened to find a nice guy who took my word they were equivalent. That's an incredible YMMV and is the exception rather than the rule. I was going to get the Panasonic BDT220 for $79.99 PM'd to Fry's until I read all the troubles people have had with DLNA and various file types not supported (i.e. they had to be encoded with particular programs and versions), so when I heard about the BX59 Costco deal I decided to go that route.

Is Home Stream free or should I get Serviio? In the things I read about the Panasonic, it seems that most people were using Serviio which I guess works for both DLNA and PS3 or Xbox 360 media browsers?

Costco never has trials or special days like Sam's Club does. Find a Costco member to buy it for you, go with him in store, or ask him to buy you a $25 Costco Cash Card in store and go by yourself and pay the rest in cash.

I remember reading about the Cinavia issue, but I skipped over it because I don't know what it is. Some sort of protection, I think? All I know is that people seem to like the Sony better than the Panasonic, so as I was able to get the Sony for the same price I went that route.
