CD was mailed to me. I have used h&r a few times before, maybe that's why I received it. Last year I got a Cd that was completely free with a unique key inside the cd case and I filed with them.

At the end of the install it says, "Done with the disc? Pass it on to friends or family so they can save." (or something close to that)

I repped you because you can never have enough skepticism on the internet. You're catching a lot of flak, but everyone should have "trust issues" on the web.

In this case, however, it looks like you only need to open and close the software to receive the promo. Then, if you want, download the real software from their website and use the code they emailed you. Then you don't have to worry about identity theft, and running it in a sandbox/vm is all that's needed to be safe.

The md5 is B5869E5FFFA8217560757813E2377C06. I wasn't able to find that on the net so no clear answer yet as to the authenticity of this ISO.

Hey that's awesome. Didn't realize it worked off the website downloads, I totally agree with having skepticism. If I was on the same end I probably feel the same.

But your suggestion is perfect for those that do not trust the file.

Get the promo price
Pay with virtual account cc
Get the code in email
Download software from hrblock.com
Use key with software

Won't affect or hurt me in any way. Thanks for sharing, more people can get in on the deal.

I can see the making one where you pay shareable, but a free version? That would be a slicker deal.
