I'm sorry if this is covered before, but this thread is huge Frown I bought the $.95 version. Installed successfully, but now I want to install on separate computer. tcauto prompts me to buy it again. Any way I can just get the installer to the program? I already have the key code and activation key.
You can run tcauto then click on help center(upper right of screen). This will give an option to install on 2nd PC. Click on that and enter activation ID and last 4 digits of credit card used to purchase(if it was free enter 0000).

I ended up going with the "free" method. However, thank you for the help! I will try it if I need it on another computer. Repped.

Anyone have any success in installing a different state after uninstalling h&r block? I filed my fed + virginia part year (end up having to mail it in..) and now am trying to finish up my boyfriend's tax returns. I uninstalled h&r block, deleted registry key, reinstalled, registered under his name so new codes.. but when we get to the state screen it keeps trying to charge $39.95 for another state. When I go to Tools to check the reinstall list it still have VA in the list. How does it know VA was installed on this computer before? Is there a separate place it installs the state files to? I wasn't even able to efile it.. should've just done his first then filled mine in manually.

I tried the free federal + state e-file method and it worked.

Now I feel like I wasted $25 for getting it through Amazon to file the first 5 tax returns.

I have a key for the free state e-file but it only gave me the CD Key option for federal and wants to charge me for state e-file, any ideas? I had to download a new copy from H&R Block because I reinstalled my OS and they gave me a new key (but I used my old one with free state e-file).

Should I just bite the bullet and then ask for a refund from them?

If I buy a key now or generate a free key, will the key and software be valid for next year's tax return (if I do not use it this year)? Never used H&R before.

Not such a good deal for me after all.
I submitted my Federal taxes on 2/27, supposedly 5 days after the 2/22 date that caused problems for prior filers - according to the article. My return contained Education Credits Form 8863 as well as Form 8582 Passive Activity Loss Limitations. I received an email notification on the same day as my filing stating that the IRS could not process Form 8582 until sometime in the first week of March.
Then, on 3/4 I received notice that the IRS had accepted my return. On 3/12 my return was automatically deposited in my bank account.

I got lucky it seems.

I'm in the same boat, I wonder if you (or anyone else) have figure out how to re-install a second state?

Likewise. Looks like to file a second state they want $40 from me, is there a workaround? Otherwise I might try and do it using taxcut or something free/reduced or even by hand. Grrr.
