OP, perhaps you can post a MD5 or a SHA hash key to cross check a clean download? Just a thought. My download just finished and I will be using this in my back pocket in hopes of a better deal along the way. Smilie Thanks
I can tomorrow when I get back on my pc. Though doesn't the MD5 or SHA base your download vs the ISO on my pc?
How do I create a hash directly on the disc? Sorry I've only checked hashes never created.

Did it still give you the promo price? Cd said both pc/mac, don't have a mac to test.
No, it asked me to go to website to purchase with normal price. But thank you anyway, thanks for sharing!

That's weird it works when I click it, the file is loaded in the Public folder as well.
You do need a Microsoft account though...

Hotmail, MSN, Live they all work one in the same.
Just FYI: In skydrive, there is an option while sharing files to allow people to download files without logging in. But there is a limit on the size of the download permitted that way without logging in. I think your iso file is larger than that size limit, hence people need to login using their msft account.

this is a pretty stupid deal considering you can download HR or turbotax for free from tpb
Pretty stupid reply, you can always get the program for free (which is what the OP is providing), its the filing that costs money which makes this a "slick deal" at $9.95

The promotion price is $9.95 for Deluxe, $14.95 for Deluxe + State, and $24.95 for Premium + State.

However when you select the product you want, and you get to the screen where you fill out your order details (name, address, payment, etc.) Press the X to close out the application.

It will automatically prompt a one time $5 off offer if you decide to purchase. If you accept the offer, it essentially drops Deluxe to $4.95, Deluxe+State to $9.95 and Premium+State to $19.95.
Yes, I have also received this CD.. it says me or current resident at the address line, so seems to be usable by friends too I guess..
Thx OP for the trick to close the program and get the extra discount Wink

$10 is well worth the time for me....(faster return)

Nevertheless doesn't change the fact that your original post was incorrect. Thanks for playing

no scanner in the world can catch a lines of code which have been just written. Unless this file is reported to the scanning companies, the whole cycle takes at least 8-10 hours. how would virtual box help, if someone just needs personal information and your SSN .
You're giving sound advice, but to the wrong crowd. The same people that would do NSA- or Gutmann-level wipes of their data are most likely in the same circle of people that don't run code from questionable sources.

The thing is... you're at Slickdeals. There are over a million registered users, and trackers-only-know how many other unique users. The people here fiend for price mistakes and then deals. I'd bet that only a handful of people are in the "paranoid" crowd of data security enthusiasts.

And, while it can be easy to alter the program to hijack data, it's actually much easier for those criminally-inclined to phish for data through much more conventional means (e.g. mass e-mails leading to mimed login pages). Though, I wouldn't be too surprised if someone decided to prey on a crowd of unsuspecting consumers. I just don't see it happening in this instance.

You're kind of like that Nate character who peruses food postings and prolifically posts ingredients and health-related information. Except, you don't post very much.

Something, something, the hero Slickdeals deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

You've planted the seed of doubt. By the time I post this, I bet someone will make an uninformed post about comparing hash values. This, of course, requires you trust the source of the hash value provider.

Edit: This will probably be cheaper when it's bundled with some AV subscription deal as it has been in past years.
