For those that need whey isolate but don't need Optimum Nutrition (I prefer Dymatize personally).

Rich Chocolate: http://www.vitacost.com/dymatize-...10-lbs-1/? (OOS)

Berry Blast: http://www.vitacost.com/dymatize-...10-lbs-2/?

1. Add to cart using set & save for 10% off.

2. Apply promo code: 123SAVE for 12% off (thanks dandaman1219).

3. Free samples: http://www.vitacost.com/freesamples

The promo code and referral code do not stack. Shipping is free.

The macro profile of this protein is highly competitive to that of ON Gold Standard (25g Protein, 2g carbs, 117 kcal in a 32.4g scoop for Dymatize Milk Chocolate vs. 24g/3g/120 in a 30.4g scoop for ON Double Rich Chocolate). Subjectively I also find the taste of Dymatize milk chocolate to be comparable to ON's chocolate series and certainly not worse.

Update 1/4/2013:

Now that Berry Blast is back in stock (after Vitacost unscrupulously canceled orders), you can try getting it for $69.33 shipped.

1. http://www.vitacost.com/dymatize-...10-lbs-2/?, add using Set and Save for 10% off.

2. Get a referral code from here: https://www.vitacostrewards.com/public/home.pg (works on any emails you have) and apply it for $10 off. Total should be $69.33.

3. Don't forget the free samples.

Thanks!

I just realized my card expired 2/13 so even if it wasn't easy to cancel, good luck to them charging an expired card in 120 days Smilie

I've had charges go through like that if the account isn't closed.

You can't stack the referral code with the 13% off promo and the 13% off works out to be more than the $10 off.

The 13% off promo expires tonight at midnight and the $10 off expires 60 (maybe 120) days after issue. Better to just use the former.

I was looking at isopure and isolyze and was just wondering if this was similar? I am trying to get lean not bulk up - would this help with that?
This will help with that. To further explain:

From my experience with anyone who is a beginner, unless you are trying your ass off to get big (bulk) then you will not get big. Just build to as much weight as you can to put up 8-12 reps with 3-5 sets per exercise and you will be building lean muscle. Only way to really bulk is to max out weight only doing 1-4 reps while eating a ton of good food, supplements, etc. to feed your muscles.

As far as really getting lean though eating is everything. Eat 4-6 small meals (which 2 of them could be protein shakes) consisting of as much veggies and lean proteins as possible while avoiding the bad carbs (pasta, bread, etc.) and stick to low carb healthy grains like quinoa and flax seed wraps. Healthy fats are good too they can promote weight loss in moderation just as a rule of thumb avoid almost all saturated fats.

Can someone tell me how these products compare to something like Isopure's low/zero carb powders? Those offer 50g protein per serving while these offer ~ 25g. I am diabetic so every carb counts, meaning I would need two scoops (4-6g carbs depending on the flavor) for an equivalent 50g protein. Or are these more effective meaning I would only need one scoop? Thanks.

Ok. Thanks. Yea I am already big (read fat), so I didn't want to add unnecessary carbs or fats. Isolyze and Isopure boast they have the least amount of carbs and fats. I did look all of them up and they are comparable.

I'm on the strict salad diet so hope this helps!

Thanks!

I'm going to try this for the first time but Isopure's serving size is 2 scoops. You would be getting more carbs to match isopure. You can use the same sign and save and discount on isopure (the whole site actually). I don't think they are more effective meaning the 24 grams work faster or anything. Its just serving size

What is the difference between whey isolate and whey protein powder (ON that I usually take after my workouts) and when is the best time to consume the isolate?

Just spent $105 locally on a 10lb of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard but I didn't have a choice since I'm going out of the country til the end of April tomorrow. I would have had to pay NY tax on this stuff anyway but whatever happened to those 4 x 5lbs of high quality name brand protein for $100 deals that would pop up? Frown
