For those that need whey isolate but don't need Optimum Nutrition (I prefer Dymatize personally).

Rich Chocolate: http://www.vitacost.com/dymatize-...10-lbs-1/? (OOS)

Berry Blast: http://www.vitacost.com/dymatize-...10-lbs-2/?

1. Add to cart using set & save for 10% off.

2. Apply promo code: 123SAVE for 12% off (thanks dandaman1219).

3. Free samples: http://www.vitacost.com/freesamples

The promo code and referral code do not stack. Shipping is free.

The macro profile of this protein is highly competitive to that of ON Gold Standard (25g Protein, 2g carbs, 117 kcal in a 32.4g scoop for Dymatize Milk Chocolate vs. 24g/3g/120 in a 30.4g scoop for ON Double Rich Chocolate). Subjectively I also find the taste of Dymatize milk chocolate to be comparable to ON's chocolate series and certainly not worse.

Update 1/4/2013:

Now that Berry Blast is back in stock (after Vitacost unscrupulously canceled orders), you can try getting it for $69.33 shipped.

1. http://www.vitacost.com/dymatize-...10-lbs-2/?, add using Set and Save for 10% off.

2. Get a referral code from here: https://www.vitacostrewards.com/public/home.pg (works on any emails you have) and apply it for $10 off. Total should be $69.33.

3. Don't forget the free samples.

This will help with that. To further explain:

From my experience with anyone who is a beginner, unless you are trying your ass off to get big (bulk) then you will not get big. Just build to as much weight as you can to put up 8-12 reps with 3-5 sets per exercise and you will be building lean muscle. Only way to really bulk is to max out weight only doing 1-4 reps while eating a ton of good food, supplements, etc. to feed your muscles.

As far as really getting lean though eating is everything. Eat 4-6 small meals (which 2 of them could be protein shakes) consisting of as much veggies and lean proteins as possible while avoiding the bad carbs (pasta, bread, etc.) and stick to low carb healthy grains like quinoa and flax seed wraps. Healthy fats are good too they can promote weight loss in moderation just as a rule of thumb avoid almost all saturated fats.
You are borderline clueless. Please stop giving out ridiculous gym-bro advice.

Does anyone know if this mixes well like ON's whey instantized protein? Says "Instant Mixability" but noticed the one review stating "mixes easily in blender"

Don't really want to use a blender since I just shake ON's whey in water.
Dymatize always mixes easier than ON, even without a blender. Most people's complaints about Dymatize would go in the opposite direction, that the mix gets too thin with only water. I've been mixing it for years with a spoon by hand.

Can someone tell me how these products compare to something like Isopure's low/zero carb powders? Those offer 50g protein per serving while these offer ~ 25g. I am diabetic so every carb counts, meaning I would need two scoops (4-6g carbs depending on the flavor) for an equivalent 50g protein. Or are these more effective meaning I would only need one scoop? Thanks.
I understand your concerns. Dymatize Isolate actually has lower carbs than the typical ON protein, but it's not quite as carb-free as the Isopure brands. The best carb-free protein blends tend to be very pricey because it costs more money to produce.

There are several sites that recommend Whey protein concentrate versus isolate assuming you can handle a bit more fat and lactose.

This is for other health issues...not for muscle building folks. Still..a great price.

I remember costco selling 6 pounds for 30 bucks...what happen to prices?

http://www.2buildmusclefast.com/2...otein.html
What happened is that companies like Pepsi and Coca Cola wanted to jump on the protein train. Coke dropped out but Pepsi went ahead and bought a half billion pounds of whey from suppliers all around the world for their Gatorade G3 recover or whatever that had whey protein in it.

Now it kind of flopped, but because they bought so much, suppliers couldn't supply supplement companies with as much as they needed to make protein. So prices started to rise to offset the cost. It'll be a while before the market is completely normalized. Demand for dairy in Russia, China and India has grown as well.

I remember buying ON tubs for less than $40 a few years ago, now the price is like $55.

Nice deal, I am stocked for awhile but might pick this up since it seems harder and harder to find good whey deals.

Please don't go around giving absolutely terrible nutrition/exercise advice on a forum where no one will know how awful it is. Just about everything you said is incorrect.

All hope is not lost.

The key is to stack the Set and Save 10% discount with the PROUDTOBE3 13% off promo code, resulting in a cumulative 21.7% off.

Both codes reduce the price down of a 5-pounder to $39. For two 5-pound tubs (free shipping starts at $49) you end up with 10-lbs for $78, still less than the ON deal.

No, just the opposite.
Casein is thick, whey is normal, isolate is thin.
