amazon payments accounts put on hold

I don't know where to put this. Since AP is referenced so much here, I thought I will put it under hot deals itself. Mods, please move it to the correct thread if this is not the right place.

just logged into my Amazon account and got this message

"Important Message:

This functionality has been disabled on your account. We have failed in verifying the information submitted by you. Click here to find out more about these restrictions."

"Certain features of restricted Amazon Payments accounts are disabled.
See the table below for more information:
Send money
Receive or request money from another account
Add or withdraw funds from your account
Shop on Amazon.com or purchase a Gift Card
Manage payment authorizations or auto deposits
Upgrade account type
Dispute, chargeback or request a refund on a purchase"

Seems like lot of folks are facing this issue. Dont know whats going on.

Sounds like a personal problem. Probably should have posted this in Tech Support or something.

And it's probably because of this (message I just got when logging in):

"To ensure compliance with Federal law, please provide your Date of Birth and Tax Identification Number (TIN). Any account that has not provided this information before Monday, December 31st 2012 will not be able to send or receive funds."

even I got the quarterly report. But then logged in to send some money and the message appeared!

It's a glitch on Amazon's end (to the dismay of the other people who responded here) and looks like it's been fixed as of about 10 minutes ago.

logged into amazon payments after I don't know how many months. all looks good to me. checked the transaction history and the only one I had was Bing Cashback from endless.com....good old BCB days !
