At this moment their latest linux hardware drivers are borked. We gave them all the info they need to solve it, but they can't or they don't want to solve it.

Thousands of people have reproduced the errors. At this moment there are two XBMC ports available, VLC is available, and all sources are available to them to reproduce the bad decoding.

Now to answer your question about why MXplayer can do it, but XBMC can't;

XBMC is opensource and released under GPL. XBMC is free. Free as in no costs and free as in all sources are open. You are free to take them, use them, modify them, do whatever you want, just honer the GPL license.

You can contact suppliers asking for their video decoing code. To get it you always need to legally bind yourself and sign NDA's (Non Disclosure Agreement). Tht code used is not open, meaning that XBMC have to close the sources.

XBMC dev's will never do that!

Usually NDA's are combined with large sum's of money as well, hence the reason most good player are not completely free. But that is the easiest part.

Secondly; XBMC is pure C/C++ code, most of Android is JAVA. XBMC actually contains just one line of JAVA code telling Android to startup that C program.

Players that are coded in JAVA can hook into Android's libraries. Most NDA released libraries and code also hook into or extend those API's. All with all completely useless for XBMC.

XBMC because of it being a native C/C++ program has to hook directly into the hardware, can not make use of any API/Framework.

I have iMito MX2 and WIFI is slow. I tried to watch a video from Youtube, video hangs. I thought XBMC is in-built into these devices.

FWIW I feel your pain about people jumping to (erroneous) conclusions and then broadcasting them far-and-wide as fact. I feel this tendency is responsible for most of the misinformation in the world.

My experience with DX is that you gotta be ready for the long haul, sometimes things ship quickly and you get your stuff within a few weeks, but I once waited 5 months for an XBox 360 wireless dongle for the PC from them.

It's like a whole other country over there.

I hope one of you guys will write up a "How To" when they get it so I do not have to translate the Chinglish instructions they will give us
