Dear valuable customers,

Recently, we offered a special promotion price on one of our popular items: the mini android 4.0 Media Player – sku.145864 External link. The manufacturer made these products available at a discounted price in order to clear stock for the coming New Year.

Unfortunately, after receiving the most recent batch of media players, it came to our attention before shipment that some of these media players have a quality issue that may affect performance. At that time we also discovered that the manufacturer supplied us with a discrepancy in information regarding the processor frequency. In order to test the processors we used our Android benchmark tool from our QC team and it turned out that some of these products may have shipped with a 1 GHZ processor instead of the 1.5 GHZ that we listed under our specifications.

Having known this fact, we tried to find an alternative source but no comparable units were available. We also attempted to have another batch of media players manufactured to the proper specifications but this would have required factory re-tooling that was not feasible in a reasonable amount of time.

Although some of these units that were purchased earlier may not have a performance issue, we have no way to be sure of this. Therefore, we have two options to resolve this issue:

1. Full refund will be issued on this item for anyone who ordered the product regardless of shipment date. We will contact you directly to follow up on this and you may keep the media player.

2. If your order hasn’t been shipped yet, it will be cancelled and you will receive a full refund and a $5 USD coupon code to use toward the purchase of a related Android HD media player here

We greatly apologize for trouble this has brought to you and we are working hard with our manufacturer to solve the problem and create protocols to see that it doesn’t happen again.

How to fix Wifi on LUbantu on U2 (password is "miniand")
0) booting uHost in Android, use browser to download seahorse's evb.bin file from here Wifi on Lubuntu
1) booting lubuntu from microsd on uHost
3) rename original evb.bin file in the 17MB volume
4) copy seahorse's evb.bin file into the 17MB volume
5) edit the file /etc/modules (sudo leafpad and open file /etc/modules) or (sudo -vi /etc/modules) and add one line with 8192cu, then save.
6) Reboot and your WiFi chip should now be up and running (go to terminal and do a lsusb and it should show up there
7) Do the usual configuration in the Network manager and you'll have your WiFi up and running

download eve.bin file from http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/u...108-5.html (if u have 1080p image)

Older single core cpu, no bluetooth, no ventilation, no reviews... too many negatives but the price is sweet and I have ordered from that site and would trust them.

Thanks, made me decide to buy it. Sucks that I can't run off of the usb power reliably, but I can't complain at this price.

Im new to these- can someone give a link explaining how they work? is the idea you plug this into your HDMI input on a tv, and it becomes a smart tv with android interface? you pair with a bluetooth mouse/keyboard to navigate? Ive seen others refer to this on the Roku deals. I have Roku and WD+ boxes currently on some tv's.

well, if this is really U2, that's a great deal. If this is U1, it's a good deal.

OP repped.

Agree with shame on missing bluetooth.

But where do you see too many negative reviews?

Edit:
I think this is the thing in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR4GMYH8ebo

Yes it makes your TV like a giant Android device. You can plug in a USB hub for multiple devices, I use the Logitech K400 with mine.

What I like about these better than my WD Live is that it has a full web browser. You can also use XBMC and other apps for streaming. I'm not sure on the quality of this stick though.
