My guess is the instant savings will be removed by the time the rebate becomes effective. I hope not though.

- Flying thing that keeps running away - Dog thing - Big fat thing that teleports when it's about to die, requiring you to chase it around And a few new weapons that are basically orange-colored copies of existing weapons (a pistol, an SMG, a semi-auto rifle, a sniper, an explosive weapon). 9 hours of single-player campaign was weak, and I'm not even looking forward to multiplayer. Also, it's annoying as balls that you never have any ammo. I spent 1/3 of my time in early game, improving to 1/5 by late-game, just searching for ammo. Issues are: - Enemies all carry different weapons so there are never very many of each - Many of most popular weapons don't use ammo and just deplete themselves - Many different kind of enemies (covenent, forerunner mix) Nothing more infuriating than entering a new area with 2 shots and then having to melee something just to get ammo (while dying a few times to get that). |

I would say the single player on Halo 4 was excellent. But the multiplayer is not. Any site that releases a review within the first 3 days of release has provided you with inaccurate data about the multiplayer. It's not something you can play for 1 hour and review. Multiplayer has a lot of things that should be addressed like weapon balance, netcode, teamwork, gameplay, replayability, and most importantly competitive play. Many problems with multiplayer games are not even revealed until a month of gameplay. Halo 4's multiplayer is still unfinished from release (see: File Share). Competitive concerns were ignored with the usual developer reply of "Shut up, we are making the game and we know best. The players know nothing." Weapons are not balanced. The ordinance system is a step away from all previous Halos and you may or may not like it. Supposedly a new title update will fix balance, and it is being rushed earlier than expected due to complaints. ---- Just a note: Halo 3 was very popular with my entire friends list for a year after its release. I get on now and I'm lucky if even 1 person is playing Halo 4. 343 is making bank off the brand name and existing concepts. The MP in this game is lacking and no TU will fix that. And maybe because I didn't play Reach and ODST...but I thought the enemy variety was fine. To me, the campaign was more epic and open-faced than Halo3...but I can understand people being sad they would be forced to learn each weapon instead of getting obscene stockpiles of any weapon they wanted like in Halo3. But considering this was a different studio that made this game, and they tried something new...I wouldn't call that lazy at all. |

Judging by your descriptions and issues you are having, I'm going to go with you just aren't good at the game. The Promethean weapons are completely different and behave on their own, they are not copies. |

I thought Slickdeals would save me money... but now I spend more. "It was such a great deal - I had to buy it!!!"

I bet the pre-rebate price goes up at midnight to $49.99 at the least. The lowest price has been $34.99 at Newegg and Amazon... so that would put this at $29.99 AR + S&H which is still a competitive price point. I don't think TigerDirect would feel the need to undercut their competitors by $15 per copy on a title that's only been out for barely 2 months. $19.99 is like "Greatest Hits" or GOTY pricing, not sale pricing.
The OP always loves to post deals super early, for whatever reason, when they don't even start for 12+ hours. If he would have waited until sharing this closer to the start time, we may have been able to get some $19.99 AR orders in before the site pricing updates. Now that remains questionable since this deal is out in the open again. |
