Yeah, I guess. Its not like I didn't know about this deal early too. I just didn't feel the need to post it 14+ hours in advance, especially when I saw the current sale price and the potential AR cost being so cheap.

Keep in mind that you also can get 5% CB with Shop Discover on the pre-rebate price. So if that was $40 (best case scenario), that knocks off another $2.

I seriously doubt its going to be $39.99 before rebate though when all is said and done. But, I guess time will tell.

For the sake of anyone who's thinking of buying the game, here's why I disagree - a weapon is not substantially "different" just because it requires a different number of shots (4 vs. 5 vs. more) or has a different recoil pattern, clip size, ammo dynamic, etc.

In multiplayer, sure, that results in very different usage. In singleplayer it just means I have to shoot an enemy a different number of times. And it's not especially satisfying to do so.

"Different" would have been the introduction of the Battle Rifle, DMR, and Gravity Hammer - those really were substantially different from existing weapons to a far greater degree than the Light Rifle, Binary Rifle, Suppressor, Scattershot...and, importantly, all of these Bungie-made weapons introduced were brilliantly fun to use.

And RE: my skill - I don't give a hoot what your impression is, but again for the benefit of anyone thinking of buying Halo 4, I played on Heroic and even with headshots it frankly takes a good number of rounds to take certain enemies (like Knights) down - especially when some enemies have a habit of flying away behind pillars or teleporting when they are almost dead.

Take a Binary Rifle for example, or the Covenant sniper - with perfect headshots, you get like 5 Knights, tops. Then you need a new gun. Light Rifle is more common but even then if you don't get more ammo then you're exhausted after 1 area. It's just annoying.

Yeah, please post early. We need to know 14 hours in advance, so we can alert TigerDirect if there's any really good deals ahead of time so they can change prices on us.

rebate for a video game? that's new to me

Halo 4 is nice that the credits I earn can be used for stuff I need while playing online with others. Like: unlimited running ability, make my grenades more affective, more ammo capacity etc

Get this game just for the online multi-player. Awesome game modes like Team Oddball make it worthwhile.

Why do I keep hearing complaints about lack of ammo? Do you want the campaign spoon-fed to you? Conserve ammo, when you're low or out, you might have to back track. Never once was put in a situation where I didn't locate a crate after looking for a bit.

Also, on the topic of no variety in new weapons compared to what we had, the boltshot, incineration cannon, & rail gun are all completely different than anything we've used before.

To each his own, but I want difficulty from shooting tough things, not from watching an ammo counter. This is not a survival horror game.

Also, since I like a spirited debate:
- Boltshot => Plasma Pistol
- Incineration Cannon => Any superpowered weapon that goes BOOM and can kill the user
- Rail Gun => Spartan Laser
