Refurb Sherwood Newcastle R-972 7.1ch Receiver $299, FS @ 1saleaday

If they were not the ones that were shipping the units that might have made it tricky....to coordinate billing and shipment with an outside company

On another note...those that are near a Magnolia Home Theater( Best Buy) should check out their clearance deals
For just a little more than this unit was they have some pretty serious items at major discounts...that can vary by store
I have bought 3 units there in the last 3 weeks and I have been demo'ing all three of them to figure out what I am going to keep

Pioneer Sc37 at 78% off retail..keeping that for sure( just the unit and power cord)
Pioneer Sc57 at 65% off..demo unit will all accessories
Yamaha A2010 at 69% off...demo with remote and power cord

curiously...thus far I may like the sound of the SC37 to the model that replaced it the SC57

HAH! I was just coming to post the exact same message as I sent them an email today as well. Wonder if I will get the same email when I email them again tomorrow!

I passed up an Elite (VSX-52TX I believe) for $314 + tax (web site had it listed for $267 + tax as an open box so i decided to hold off) the day before ordering this. I also passed on some nice Onkyo deals. The HK1700 deal was decent but the lack of inputs (zero component inputs for Wii or legacy SACD and DVD-Audio Audio players) was a huge downside.

If this R-972 does not ship soon, I may start looking again and cancel...

It shipped! FINALLY! "Your order for 1 7.1 Receiver With HDMI on 01/03/2013 has been recently shipped via UPS."

I got a tracking number too. Its about time.

If this is like other 1saleaday orders I've experienced, it's possible that days may go by between when they generate the label and when UPS actually gets the package.

Coincidentally, at the same time as the tracking number email appeared, I got a reply to my second email requesting a tracking number: "I apologize for the shipping delay. We are currently experiencing some system problems with the tracking information. You can expect delivery shortly."

Got mine today. video works great no test tones no audio yet audio pass thru works when enabled in setup. When audio is set to receiver I get no sound from hdmi or optical etc. no setup tones Trinnov or manual test tones, what a letdown?

That Sucks! Some strange setup configuration maybe? Do analog sources work? It's disappointing a refurb from the factory is DOA.

Really disappointed, packaging looked brand new and receiver had no fingerprints or signs of wear. I am sure this is going to be a major hassle!!!

unfortunate to have to have to send it back for warranty service right off the bat

However...there in lies the expectation one might have for $299

I am sure after its repair you will be good to go
